Lancer Group
Published:  27 March, 2006

Lancer Group has announced a series of new launches for 2006. Firstly there is the recent launch of the Evolution series of PVC/Phthalate Free textile screen printing inks.

Evolution inks are designed to have all of the advantages of plastisol inks without the big disadvantage of water based inks. This means the inks will not dry in the screens like water-based inks. This allows the printer to print very fine details or halftones with mesh counts up to 355/inch (142cm) with no choking problems!

Also, because the Evolution inks contain no water or solvent, there is no wasted ink, which has dried and must be discarded. This can greatly decrease ink consumption. Evolution inks have great opacity and can be printed onto dark fabrics. Finished prints have a very soft hand feel.

The Evolution series is a complete line of printing inks including a four-colour process set (CMYK), opaque spot colours, Optical White, and the 4551 Colorpro Pantone licensed matching system.

Lancer Group has designed The Evolution Ink system to be also used for PVC/Phthalate Free Screen Printed Heat Transfers. The transfers can be either hot or cold peeled. For heat transfers, the Evolution 4841 printable adhesive and 4905 First down clear base can be used with the Evolution inks on most heat transfer papers, as well as Lancer’s new Transfilm which is a clear plastic film.

Printing the 4600 Evolution process colours and using the 4581 Evolution Optical White as a white backing can make an opaque four-colour process. Evolution Heat transfers release very easily from the release paper, and the transferred image has a very soft hand feel.

Also newly launched is Transfilm, a clear, 75 micron plastic film with a release coating for easy for easy release of plastisol heat transfer inks. Transfilm is much more dimensionally stable than conventional heat transfer papers as it does not have a moisture content problem like paper does.

Transfilm can also be litho (offset) printed for litho printed/plastisol backed transfers. As it is a clear film, this allows for easy transfer placement on the garment. It is also ideal for tagless label heat transfers.

Finally, Lancer Group has announced the release of its new high stretch printable adhesive, Excalibur 846/847 Series for heat transfers. 846/847 Series is available as two types of adhesive: 846 is a clear adhesive and 847 is a white adhesive that is used for applications that require greater opacity.

Excalibur 846/847 has very high stretch characteristics as well as bonding strongly to fabrics. 846/847 High Stretch Printable Adhesive is ideal for athletic transfers and tagless label transfers.
