Creative Challenge winners ‘Jump 4 Joy’

‘Jump 4 Joy’, by Estonian screen printers Fifaa AS, is the winning entry in the Fruit of the Loom Creative Challenge 2005 – the annual, pan-European competition for garment decorators.

Fifaa AS will receive the first prize of business equipment to the value of €10,000. Ego Enterprises Ltd, of Cradley Heath in the West Midlands were the Regional Winners for the UK & Ireland.

The third annual Fruit of the Loom Creative Challenge certainly lived up to its name, attracting ‘some of the most artistic entries to date,’ according to Jane Goodman, Fruit of the Loom’s Vice President of Marketing. However, the judges were unanimous in their decision that Fifaa SA’s ‘Jump 4 Joy’ design was the most creative interpretation of the 2005 competition theme, ‘Celebration’.

The winning print was one of three unique entries created by Kristjan Tramberg, Fifaa AS’s talented 27-year old designer. It is intended to ‘celebrate the enjoyment of the simple things in life, such as the fun of simply jumping!’ explains Annika Maasalu, the company spokesperson.

The large print uses a variety of special effects inks to show a colourful, leaping, cartoon figure in front of the legend, ‘Jump 4 Joy’, which is over-laid with brightly coloured flowers. The design was printed on to a Fruit of the Loom white/heather grey Baseball T Short Sleeve. Fifaa AS describe the printability of Fruit of the Loom products as ‘very good, primarily because of their smooth and sleek surface: you can print very thin lines and dots, and fine graphics will not disappear’.

Fifaa AS, which was founded in 1993 and employs more than 100 people throughout the Baltics, overcame stiff opposition from garment decorators across Europe to secure the top prize. ‘We are very happy to have won; this success has given us all – and especially our print team – great motivation to reach even higher goals. We entered the Creative Challenge because we wanted to compare ourselves with other great companies; the result confirms that we are good!’ said a jubilant Annika Maasalu.

Jane Goodman comments, ‘We are delighted by the response to the Creative Challenge 2005, which aims to showcase the creativity and professionalism that now defines our industry. This year, the judges were faced with a particularly difficult decision on account of the wealth of artistic talent on show. However, they were all especially impressed by Fifaa SA’s exuberant ‘Jump 4 Joy’ design. Congratulations to Fifaa SA and all the Regional Winners, and thank you to everyone else that entered the competition.’
