Lea Sportswear’s new brochures for 2006 are all virtual thanks to its new website, which is up and running from 1 January.
The new website replaces the printed brochures for the three promotional clothing brands - Front Row, Tombo and Whytes. As Phil Hurley, European Sales Manager for Lea Sportswear explains, ‘A website is the obvious best step to take. It will give everyone in the industry – distributors, embroiderers, screen printers and the end user - easy access to all the styles in our various ranges. As soon as a new colourway or style is introduced it will be there, on the website. Everyone will know that they have all the latest information at their fingertips.’
To access the main Lea Sportswear website, going to www.leasportswear.com will take you there fast. Alternatively, aim directly for the brand of your choice at www.frontrowclothing.com, www.tomboclothing.com or www.whytes.com. Prospective customers, who may not know the brand names and are simply searching the net by clothing category, will also find they are routed to the site.
As Phil points out, ‘We’ve used proven search engine optimisation techniques to make sure that anyone who is interested in our kind of clothing will find it, fast. It makes life easy for existing customers, and it will draw in new buyers, whether they are looking for the stylishness of Front Row’s active leisurewear; or the professional standard of design of Tombo sportswear; or simply the practical, hardwearing sweats and sweaters available from Whytes.’
The technology used for the website incorporates Flash technology which uses a zoom function to allow you to see the real detail of a garment, close-up. As it is the detail that distinguishes all Lea Sportswear clothing, that is highly relevant. In addition, a custom-designed Content Management Solution allows Lea Sportswear to update the site swiftly and thus ensure that the very latest position with regard to styles and colours is always available on-screen.
Navigating the website is also very easy. Site design takes special account of those whose physical disabilities might make it difficult for them to use the internet. This accessibility reaches levels that meet both current and anticipated legislation.
If you like what you see on the website and want to purchase stock, distributors’ details are clearly shown. In most cases you can click on a link to pass straight to the distributor’s website for product price and availability information, although if you are not already a customer you may need to establish an account with them first, usually a straightforward and fairly fast process.
