Nilorn Calmon is set to be put to the test as its labels go on the most grueling trek of their life!
Supporting the 2006 British Army Expedition to Everest, Nilorn Calmon is one of the principle sponsors, providing branded labels, badges and stickers for equipment and clothing. All are set to experience the ultimate in harsh weather conditions – high winds, snow and avalanches - as the 21-strong main team climb Everest via the infamous West Ridge, one of the mountain’s most challenging routes.
With just over 100 days to go to, preparations are already in place for the big event. Equipment is starting to arrive at the expedition store ready to be packed and weighed in time to be freighted to base camp. Training has been ongoing since the climb was planned two and a half years ago but December saw more physical training taking placing in Meribel, France as well as presentations to the team on psychological and nutritional support.
Expedition leader Dave Bunting has climbed all over the world, including in the Himalayas, but says Everest is special, particularly on such a demanding route. ‘This is the greatest challenge and a once in a lifetime climb. This route has never been successfully completed by a British team but we have been planning this for a long time and are as prepared as we can be.’
Sales Executive Sean Lomax said, ‘We are pleased to be supporting the British Army on this physically and mentally challenging climb and wish them all the luck.’
Nilorn Calmon provides everything from simple printed or woven labels and swing tickets through to a complete brand packaging concept that covers everything from complete design services to production and integrated logistic solutions that guarantee reliability of supply and short delivery times.
