2005 saw Xpres celebrate 25 successful years in business and the popularity of digital transfer systems has never been greater.
As well as continuing with the standard form of rhinestone application, Packtex can also offer a range of colours and shapes in its styles, with 18 colours and five shapes in the rhinestud style and 16 colours and six shapes in the rhinestone style.
If you prefer something different then there is seven colours in the 4mm pearl shape and shapes including hearts, doughnuts, stars and triangles. Of course the benefit of rhinestone application is that it is easy, a simple heat press is used to transfer the decoration on to the garment, and the variety of design options is wide and varied.
For Packtex, the use of rhinestone decoration doesn’t just end with garment decoration, as the company has now begun developing diamonte tattoos, with options for both the skin and for fingernails. Director Suleman Gaffar explained, ‘these are star shaped and can be applied on to fingernails with nail polish.’
Suleman also explained, ‘At Packtex we do our own designs and developments, we get in the artwork from the customer and create the motif that is then provided back to the customer within 48 hours.’ Contact Packtex on 0870 758 0301 or visit the website at www.packtex.com. 2005 saw Xpres celebrate 25 successful years in business and the popularity of digital transfer systems has never been greater.
Thanks to a combination of low set up costs and the high demand for smaller runs of personalised clothing, promotional products and business gifts, an Xpres transfer system can either provide the foundation for a new personalisation business or makes a perfect add-on business opportunity for existing garment decorators.
One of the most significant changes this year has been the introduction of the GX-24 cutter. With a contemporary aluminium finish and incorporation of the latest servo technology, the GX24 is Xpres fastest cutter yet with an improved optical sensor for cutting out single and multi colour heat transfers (also known as the Xpres Cut) and full colour transfers when used as part of the best-selling Ultragraphics system.
The new digital server motor of the GX-24 provides smoother and more accurate cutting, and there is an increased range of pressure settings. Additional features include a USB connection and Apple Mac compatibility.
There has also been recent developments concerning both cuttable and print & cut materials. Colour Trans Dark Jet is a material that can be printed via a laser or inkjet printer, resulting in full colour transfers suitable for application to nylon. Available in A4 and A3 formats, Colour Trans Dark Jet represents a very cost effective and easy way to personalise nylon garments.
Ink Jet Dark now features an improved backing, making it even easier to use. Using an inkjet printer with durabrite inks, this material produces very durable and highly detailed full colour transfers that can be applied to cotton and polyester garments. An additional benefit of Ink Jet Dark is that it can be washed at 80¡C, making it ideal for work wear, corporate wear and sports wear applications.
There is now a choice of two grades of flock, Premium or Promo. Offering a superior raised texture, flock is suitable for cutting fine detail breast pocket and large chest logos. It is particularly popular for applying to sweatshirts, fleece jackets and caps.
As their names suggest, premium flock is ideally suited for application to more expensive garments whereas promo flock is perfect for those customers on a smaller budget.
Nylo Flex is a new material for imprinting nylon items and is easier to cut, weed and apply than the established Nylo Cut vinyl. Available in 25 colours it is ideal for decorating nylon jackets, bags and umbrellas.
The sublimation process continues to be very popular and the Subli-bag range (which also incorporates wallets and business folders) has proven to be hugely popular since launch in September. As Christmas approaches, these hot gift items offer excellent profit potential.
Look out too for a number of major new developments of both systems and consumables from Xpres early in the New Year. For further information, or to arrange an appointment for a demonstration, contact Xpres on 01332 85 50 85. Visit the website at www.xpres.co.uk.
