New Fruit of the Loom colours point to a much brighter future
Published:  30 March, 2010

Fruit of the Loom has introduced two new colours to its palette for 2010, and has broadened the choice of bright, fashion colours across several of its most popular product lines.

The company has introduced yellow (K2) in the Men’s and Kids’ Valueweight T and the Men’s Heavy Cotton T.

The new colour offers a brighter alternative to Fruit of the Loom’s sunflower (34), which is already an option in both Valueweight styles.

“The new yellow colour picks up on the current popularity of ‘brights’ on the high street. It is a lighter, punchier hue compared with our sunflower and light gold colours, and has received a positive response from our imprint customers,” says Alison McKenzie, brand director.

Two other bright hues – orange (44) and Kelly green (47) – have been added to further key imprint styles.

The Heavy Cotton T, Screen Stars Original Full Cut T, and Hooded Sweat are now all available in Orange. The Hooded Sweat – along with the Lady-Fit Valueweight T – is now offered in Kelly green, too.

The other new Fruit of the Loom colour is charcoal, which was launched in direct response to customer demand.

“Charcoal is on-trend in retail and we have received many requests from customers to add it to our colour palette this year,” adds Alison. “It resembles a ‘washed out black’ and is ideal for creating a fashionable ‘vintage’ look.”

Fruit of the Loom is offering six of its activewear styles in charcoal: the new Fitted Valueweight T, Valueweight V-Neck T, Valueweight T, Zip Through Hooded Sweat, Hooded Sweat and Lady-Fit Vaueweight T.

In addition to the new colours, the company has added corporate favourite, deep navy (AZ) to the colour palette of a further ten (new and established), styles for 2010.

“Fruit of the Loom is committed to staying abreast of the latest colour trends and to responding quickly to customers’ changing requirements. We are confident that our expanded colour palette will enable our customers to better service current market demand,” Alison McKenzie comments.
