EZTrans have it covered

The rise in use of synthetic materials in the garment industry has been relentless. And the ability of these fabrics to outperform natural fibres in specific situations has manufacturers turning to them to provide a new generation of apparel.

What were once thought of as negatives – ie: the inherent shininess, flexibility and comfort of synthetics – are now major selling points. Says EZTrans Gordon Filz: "With the abundance of sportswear and crossover garments in the market, a means of marking was being called for by customers. The traditional method of dye-sublimation required expensive inks and machinery, the overall quality was poor and was not economically viable for smaller users and production runs.

"A transfer paper was developed that suited these garments and enabled low volume marking. EZ106 JET PRO Active Wear is a heat transfer that is breathable, specially formulated for performance fabrics including those which wick moisture away from the body, Lycra, Under Armor and Spandex to name just some." The polymers within EZ 106 JET PRO Active Wear that provide the cross linking to the fibres have an affinity for synthetic fibre. They result in the superior stretch and breathability that is sought in the performance fabric market.

EZ106 JET PRO Active Wear is suitable for use on major brands such as Tombo, Finden+Hales, Gamegear and Kariban.

Feedback from customers has been very positive, according to Filz. “It performs very well with super wash-ability on light synthetic fibres. Now customers are able to apply heat transfer vivid graphics to jerseys, bicycle wear and team clothing – another first from the EZTrans stable”.
