New to UK Leisurewear’s stable of international labels is the world’s third largest brand, American workwear giant Cherokee. Having already gained a UK presence through its partnership with Tesco, Cherokee is now looking to break the UK workwear market through its brand new partnership with UK Leisurewear.

Cherokee features soft construct workwear garments designed for comfort and durability, and are probably most famous for the range of ‘Tuniforms’; scrub style garments decorated with cartoon characters like Scooby-Doo and Bob the Builder. These have been used across the world in nurseries, dental practices and children’s wards as well as appearing on TV shows like ER, Casualty, Coronation Street and Emmerdale.

The collection that UK Leisurewear are showcasing to the UK workwear market are manufactured using a hard wearing polyester cotton blend that has been treated with a flurocarbon finish. A fluorocarbon finish imparts a high-tech performance fabric protector, that enables the fabric to repel spills and stains on contact.

Fluorocarbons are recognised worldwide for their superior non-stick properties (such as the coatings on cookware) and have gained widespread acceptance as a soil and stain repellent and release finish for fabrics. The finish was first used in home furnishings and later in outdoor apparel, and now it is being used as a finish on Cherokee workwear. The fabric it’s self is a lightweight but tough 145 gsm that offers comfort and durability.

This carefully selected first collection has been chosen to reflect the variety of environments in which these garments can be used. The garments are ideal for use within many workwear sectors from doctor’s surgeries, dental practices and Vet’s through to beauticians, cleaning companies and food environments as certain styles feature internal pockets.

The simple and comfortable cut, huge range of colours and expansive size range mean that Cherokee have something available for everyone.

Garments that will be available include the Scooby-Doo and Bob the Builder V-neck Tunics, perfect for use in nursery and pre school environments, as well as the more traditional medical arena. The Tuniforms can then be teamed with either of the two styles of trouser that will be available.

There is either a casual unisex with drawstring waist or elasticised unisex cargo pant. The trousers come in ten different colourways including the very much in demand black, which looks fantastic when used in a beauty industry environment.

The range is also to include two further V Neck Tunics in up to ten colourways and sized from XS (33) right through to 5XL (60 -63) and these tunics are complimented by a ‘Warm Up Top’ along sleeved front fastening jacket to pull over the tunic, perfect for those moving between environments of different temperature, and a Labcoat.

The collection is completed by the R-Clogz Lights, a range of incredibly lightweight and versatile clogs weighing only 38 grams/3oz. The clogs are available in three colours : white, black and navy and are machine washable to 160C! They also feature a removable insole, swivel back strap and have become one of the fastest selling shoes in the nursing world.
