It's the final countdown! Well that year went quickly. As I write, we are on the threshold of yet another action-packed Printwear & Promotion Show - with the added dimension, this year, of the International Promota Show co-locating with us in Hall 12 at the NEC on the second and third days.
Since joining Printwear & Promotion last March, I have made it a priority to get out and about and meet many of the suppliers and distributors who are regular advertisers and who are loyal to the magazine.
The show – my first – will be a great opportunity to enhance my own knowledge of the market and to put many more faces to the names that regularly cross my desk.
I am also delighted that this year's show will see some industry firsts, not least an exciting new machinery launch by YES Ltd (see page 58).
As we went to press, registrations for this year's show were higher than in the same period last year and we are delighted that all of the big distributors will be showcasing their 2010 products.
We also have an interesting seminar programme lined up, not forgetting the daily fashion shows and, of course, our garment decoration awards which have attracted some truly awe-inspiring entries. Look out for them!
Visitors to the show have increased year on year and we hope that amongst all the doom and gloom of the business environment, our show will be a beacon of light, providing inspiration and ideas on how to trade your way out of recession and boost your bottom line.
All in all, Printwear & Promotion Live 2010 looks set to be another winner and we look forward to seeing you there.
See my interview with Exhibitions Manager, Richard Smith, on page 56, to find out more about what's in store.
Elsewhere in this month's issue you can read about the rise and rise of Henbury, which has doubled its portfolio overnight with the acquisition of the Lea Sportswear brands. Find out about the challenges and opportunities that Henbury's Katie Stewart faces on page 54.
My travels have also taken me to Bury, and the HQ of Beechfield Headwear. Roger McHugh, the man behind the brand, tells us how Beechfield has maintained its position at the UK's leading headwear supplier.
Have a great month and if you're going to P&P Live, I look forward to meeting you.
