While a myriad of different production options are available using complex software and laborious methods, nothing to date has really enabled the product to become widely used or accepted.

This has been partly due to the high production costs and the resultant end-user price required to make the process profitable. The market penetration has also been hampered by restrictions on colours, designs and end-users' non-satisfaction as a “value for money” product.

However, the technical staff at TheMagicTouch have come up with what is considered the best option for the crystal effect that is easy to produce, affordable and very durable.

Using the MagiCut FX “Starflex” cutable vinyl, which is available in nine exciting colours (500mm wide), you can produce crystal effect transfers in conjunction with your existing cutter/plotter. A host of template designs and unique fonts are available from the website to create your own unique transfers. The templates are available as MagiCut V6 files (.tmt) or Adobe Illustrator files (.ai). The .ai files can be used with all versions of MagiCut software, Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator or any vector based package that supports .ai.

Using this method transfers can cost less than 50p each and be produced easily in minutes. The MagiCut Starflex has a great soft feel and can be layered to create multi-colour effects together with fantastic durability that is machine washable to 60C and suitable for dry cleaning.
