"I predict the new Result Air Down range will be a top seller. The idea behind this range is completely innovative and a totally new concept for the company.
“The Result AirDown range quite literally takes your breath away. Simply blow into the provided mouthpiece to inflate as the temperature drops to keep body heat at an optimum level.
“The AirDown collection offers customers a range of jackets and gilets which are suitable for use in any outdoor situation. The range could easily be applied for use in the outdoor services such as mountain rescue, who’s staff members are required to be active in all weathers. The Air Down range protects the wearer against extreme cold and has been successfully tested in temperatures as low as -20, proving this range could be a lifesaver in arduous outdoor environments.”
Jeremy Aston-Phillips, sales director, Blue Max
"The Ziggy’s designer skirt collection is destined to be a star performer. We have already had lots of enquiries about these skirts which are a new introduction to our 2010 catalogue. The skirts, available in both a straight and pleated version, create a fashionable and stylish suit when matched with the Ziggy’s designer jacket or blazer. Suits are becoming an increasingly popular uniform choice for girls across sixth forms across the UK. But girls don’t just want any jacket and skirt, they want a proper suit that exudes quality and style. This is just what we have delivered with our new skirts.
"The straight version has no waistband, is fully lined and features two side slits and a side zip. The pleated version has a stitched down knife pleat and both skirts are made from the same smart polyester twill fabric used for all Ziggy’s designer jackets and blazers."
Susan Bremner, brand manager, Front Row
"For 2010 Front Row has introduced three great new styles, so it is difficult to choose just one. However, the hottest style is the H800 Full Zip Hooded Sweat. We are sure you will love this garment as much as we do, as it is more than just a run of the mill hoodie.
"Made from sumptuous 330gm brushed back fleece this is indeed a cosy garment. As ever we have ensured that Front Row attention to detail with 2x1 rib on the hood and kangaroo pocket, contrast chunky drawcord with metal eyelets and cover stitching on seams, for added strength.
"Available in Heather Grey and Navy and co-ordinating perfectly with the new H600 Trackpant, we are sure this will become a must have item."
Katie Stewart, managing director, Henbury
"If forced to select one of Henbury's new additions for 2010, it would have to be our Coolplus polos – H475 for Men’s and H476 for women.
"These 100% Polyester Coolplus garments are made from specially engineered yarn composed of fibres with inbuilt micro-slits. This sounds technical, but is actually just very tiny holes. These allow warm moisture vapour from the skin to be transported to the fabrics surface where it rapidly evaporates. The result is a cool, comfortable and much happier wearer. As the wicking properties are inherent in the yarn, and not produced by a chemical finish, the effectiveness will last for the lifetime of the garment, and not wash off.
"We believe more and more of our customers will demand technically innovative garments as the undoubted benefits are forever in the media, and although the initial applications were for sports related products, we are now seeing strong trends throughout the marketplace.
"We see these garments being suitable for use in a multitude of occupations, from healthcare to building, garden centres to golf – in fact any occupation or pastime where the wearer undergoes any exertion."
Amar Sandhu, International Insignia
"Hoodies and zip-hoodies will continue to be big. Our customised hoods with applique and prints have been a huge success. Look out for more interesting fabrics this year, as well as sparkly sequins and printed designs.
"T shirts are a basic for everyone. The best thing about the T shirt is that it can be used as a canvas to display graphic art or just about anything. We expect to see lots of graphic printed T shirts this year especially with funny words and slogans. As with the hoods watch out for sequin and printed design on T shirts. They are set to be everywhere.
"For headwear, Peruvian hats have been very big this year and we expect the trend to continue into 2010. We offer both custom embroidered and jacquard peruvian hats. Another big item for 2010 is going to be jacquard beanie hats, either with jacquard text or with jacquard designs.
Jim Nicol, managing director, TheMagicTouch
"TheMagicTouch will introduce the A3 format of the award-winning WoW transfer paper. Over the past 18 months there have been a myriad of different solutions introduced to enable full colour transfer printing on garments. All available options seem to have their unique differences but vary dramatically in quality, speed and price.
"The WoW transfer process enables full colour printing on to almost any fabric including nylon, cotton, polyester, leather and even denim. There is no cutting or weeding involved.
"The printable item can be any colour and the transfer can be positioned in almost any position including sleeves and collars. The durability is beyond all expectations previously achieved with full colour transfers.
"The colour printer required to produce the WoW is available for a few hundred pounds. Multi-repeat images on the transfer paper make the process the most economical full colour available with superb colour management and production consistency.
"WoW is the perfect inexpensive solution to the growing market of short-run full colour garment decoration."
Kirsty Macdonald, brand manager, Finden+Hales
"The new Finden+Hales jersey polos (for men LV350 and women LV351) have been introduced on the back of an ever increasing understanding of, and demand for performance fabrics.
"Coolplus is a recognised wicking fabric with moisture management properties built into the yarn as opposed to a chemical application on the surface of the fabric. This means that the wicking will last forever and a day and keep the wearer happier for longer.
"Finden+Hales have opted for a smoother and finer single jersey for this new design which offers an alternative from their other performance pique garments, but maintains all the same ease of decoration, wear and also care. As with all Finden+Hales garments in the range, it features contrast detailing; this time in the form of bold side and raglan sleeve panelling which is trimmed with sporty white piping. All the colour options have been carefully developed to co-ordinate with the rest of the Finden+Hales range to help with customer cross purchase requirements. It’s bold and very form flattering, offers proven performance characteristics and doesn’t fade with either sun or washing so a great choice all around. It’s another perfect match from Finden+Hales."
Vinciane Louis, B&C
"The B&C Hooded sweatshirt is all set to take off in 2010. Using the perfect sweat technology (80% combed cotton/20% polyester – 280 g/m²), developed a few years ago by B&C, this technology offers many advantages such as excellent resistance to washing, a matt appearance for a sublimated design and perfect printability.
"The high presence of cotton in the fabric (80%) and the absence of polyester inside the sweatshirt offer perfect comfort (your skin is only in contact with cotton).
"B&C Hooded is available in a wide range of sizes (from XXS to XXXL) as well as in an extended colour range (17 colours – two of which are new for 2010, brown and diva blue)."
