Printwear & Promotion Live will be celebrating 21 great years in 2010. And this year's show is set to be better than ever. For the first time, visitors will be able to see two great shows – all under one roof* and conveniently located in Hall 12 at Birmingham's NEC. This year's international PROMOTA Show will be co-locating with Printwear & Promotion, so there has never been a better time to visit!
Published:  22 January, 2010

Printwear & Promotion Live opens on Sunday, February 28 through to Tuesday, March 2 and offers the visitor all that’s best in blank garments from the UK’s major distributors and manufacturers with ranges covering the leisure, workwear, schoolwear, sportswear and promotional markets.

All major embroidery machine manufacturers will be represented along with digital, screen print, sublimation machinery and ancillary products.

Included in our list of new exhibitors are Keramikos showing their wide range of mugs and GK Marketing showing Anatol screen printing machines.

Knowledge Transfer Suite

Special visitor features include a series of free to attend seminars each day in the Knowledge Transfer Suite. Following the success of last year’s seminar programme where standing room only was available for most presentations it is recommended that you visit the Printwear & Promotion website at  www.printwearandpromotion.co.uk to see the seminar programme and to register your interest in attending.

New product display

Yet another new feature to the exhibition is the New Product Display area where a range of new and innovative items available from stands at the exhibition will be on show.

Co-location with Promota*

For the first time Printwear & Promotion will co-locate with the International Promota exhibition (March 1 and 2), an event strong in the promotional products market that will further enhance the visitor experience. The International PROMOTA Show can be visited by members of any recognised UK or overseas promotional trade association or any bona fide distributor or reseller of promotional merchandise who successfully completes the online registration questionnaire. PROMOTA would like to remind visitors that The International PROMOTA Show is a trade exhibition and is not open to end users.

Look out for more details in our next issue…

BTC ACTIVEWEAR

BTC activewear have grown their offering by 25% for 2010 with 44 market-leading brands, with massive stocks of each held in the biggest distribution centre in the industry.

As Russell Europe’s latest approved distributor, they have expanded their ranges of Jerzees Colours, Jerzees Schoolgear, Russell Collection and Russell Workwear.

Their Magnificent Seven Workwear brands – CAT, DeWalt, Dickies, Helly Hansen, Mascot, Panoply and Snickers, have also grown their ranges for 2010. Mascot are offering a range of simple quality workwear with triple stitched seams and hard wearing fabrics under their MacMichael by Mascot brand.

BTC activewear have always had probably the best selection of outerwear but have significantly increased the choice from Result, Regatta and Stormtech for 2010.

Exclusive to BTC activewear is Fanshirt who have introduced a number of new styles including Candy, a longer length, super soft touch, single jersey T shirt that is tailored for a retail look.

New brand Cooltex joins Mascot and Gamegear in offering a wide range of moisture-wicking base layer systems.

Their bag offering has also grown, with an expanded range from Shugon, joined for the first time with ranges from Regatta and Nike Golf.

Footwear has proven to be very popular for BTC activewear so they have expanded their offering from Dickies for 2010 and also included a concise new range from Regatta.

Such has been the demand, they have added an additional tab in their 2010 catalogue for Vinyls and Transfers, with expanded ranges from Xpres, Target and new brand Lewis Print.

ETIKETTGRUPPEN

Etikettgruppen AB is a Swedish producer of woven badges and other textile products for the promotions industry.

We produce and deliver the woven badges from our factory in Borås, Sweden within five working days and the minimum quantity is 10 pieces.

At Printwear & Promotion we will be showing the woven badges and how to use them to brand corporate clothing. We will also show other products for the same purpose.

FINDEN+HALES

Finden+Hales know teamwear and they know it well and the 2010 range looks set to become the benchmark for those seeking a credible and quality teamwear solution.

Thirteen new styles have been introduced with even more colours and range extensions being made to current products. The brand has worked hard to ensure each and every addition corresponds with Finden+Hales brand values; that everything offers the potential to be co-ordinated as required.

Finden+Hales is a brilliantly straightforward concept and the products have been very carefully developed to offer a superb level of fit, quality and performance. The new Jersey Team Ts and Polos for both men and women (LV250/1 and LV3501) are made in Coolplus polyester which offers wicking in addition to unbeatable easy care and quick dry properties.

The new Team Overtop for both adults and kids is a welcome addition to the range and offers both versatility and functionality courtesy of the cosy, fleece-lined body, quarter zip top and drawcord toggling at the hem.

New  length trackpants for both men and women are being launched to offer a fresh alternative for when the days get longer and warmer. The brand are predicting interest from a variety of sources including gyms and leisure groups and indeed anyone looking for an easy-wear summer alternative to full length trousers.

Finden+Hales are also further increasing their range of Ladieswear to increase potential sales opportunities into mixed or women-only teams. We are determined to ensure that the collection be relevant to as many people and across as many end uses as is possible.

FRONT ROW

Being outdoors matters and our clothing collection provides all the gear you need. All garments are designed with careful consideration to ensure decoration is a straightforward task.

2010 sees the introduction of a lighter weight rugby shirt in eight fantastic colours; with classic styling, this provides a summertime alternative to the existing and very popular FR1. There are new track pants and full zip hooded sweat, both in a sumptuous, heavyweight brushed back fleece, with that all important detailing that Front Row prides itself on. It is definitely worth dropping by to see these first hand.

Not forgetting Front Row’s authentic rugby shirts which stand the test of time and our extra special supersoft, collection cotton with a luxuriously soft handle, making it a delight to wear. Visitors will be able to re-acquaint themselves with durable garments that are not only comfortable and practical, but above all thoughtfully created.

We believe these additions are not only very good to look at but enhance the range perfectly. From shirts to trousers and shorts and even durable outerwear the Front Row Collection continues to perform beautifully.

GAZELLE SPORTS LIMITED

Gazelle Sports Limited have had a fantastic year with its quality teamwear clothing range. They have added two new colour combinations in their stunning Teamstar range which includes training tops, shorts, football tops and tracksuits.

Gazelle are also looking to increase their range into ladies wear and have produced a new sports top for ladies called Jenny. This eye catching design has a contemporary feminine fit.

Gazelle Sports' designs are different to any currently present in the market and with a vast range of colour combinations they make any team look like winners – as well as having the quality and durability required at any club level.

HENBURY

As ever the Henbury label represents quality, innovation and design in the world of Corporate, Promotional and Workwear Clothing and visitors to the Henbury stand will see this continuing with the new products this year.

The Henbury womenswear offer has grown over the years and 2010 is no exception with our new hooded sweatshirt that has the all important feminine fit. We understand that women want garments that fit them, not just a smaller men’s garment. We have addressed this even more fully for 2010. Lighter weight knits for men and women bring retail influences into the corporate market and will be a delight to decorate with your company’s logo.  Keeping up with latest wicking technology, Henbury’s new Coolplus polyester polos for men and women provide a cool and comfortable alternative for the workplace.

The workhorses of the range will be with us too, as there may yet be someone we have not introduced to our best selling H100 or Polyester/Cotton H400.

Whether you are looking for one of our renowned polos, cosy sweatshirts, smart trousers and shirts, stylish knits or practical jackets, Henbury is the place to stop. For versatility and co-ordination we believe the 2010 range is the best yet.

JUST HOODS BY AWDIS

If the third appearance of Just Hoods by AWDis at the 2010 Printwear & Promotion show follows the pattern of the past two years, customers will have to time their visit to the stand very carefully to ensure they find a gap in the crowds.

Such has been the growth and success of the brand that the stand, situated just inside the entrance to the show has been mobbed for almost all of the opening hours.

2010 will be the first full showcase of the expanded range now grown from six to ten great styles in 45 great colours. The Varsity Hoodie launched last midsummer with 12 colours has been expanded to 17 as it has taken off at such an enormous rate.

Market research conducted at the 2009 show indicated clearly that matching joggers were very much in demand so three styles will be on display – the Campus Sweatpant, the Girlie and the Kid’s Jogpants launched in January 2010.

The printwear trade no longer has to struggle to match pant colours to the massive AWDis range.

Not selling directly from the stand there are no other pressures on visitors and that means that they can really get to know everything they want to about the nation’s most popular hoodie brand from our well trained staff.

To order customers must move on to one of our three exclusive distributors: Ralawise, Pencarrie or Prestige Leisure who are naturally all exhibiting at the show.

When you walk in the door look to your right and you will see the most amazing splash of colour, that will be Just Hoods by AWDis, impossible to miss!

Be sure that there will be something novel in the promotions department too!

THE MARKETING WORX

Leicestershire-based The Marketing Worx will be exhibiting for the first time at Printwear & Promotion 2010.

MD, Malcolm Watson sees this attendance as the next link in the sustained growth of the company’s exposure on a countrywide basis, as, until recently, they have been predominately focusing on establishing the business in the Midlands and the North.

The range includes bespoke ties and scarves, metal badges, key rings, soft PVC items (including clothing patches), their range of lanyards, that include environmental options and an all new range of road safety items that will be launched at the show for the first time.

In addition to the range of merchandise on show, the company will be showing the printing options open to customers sourcing lanyards. “Another area that we are keen to promote and demonstrate at the show is our bespoke sourcing ability. With the contacts we have in the Far East, we are currently providing quotes on non standard merchandise within 24 hours, and managing to back this up with product samples if the need genuinely exists,” states Malcolm.

As we go to press, we have been informed that there will hopefully be an announcement at the show of a breakthrough for the company and its customers.

Please come along and meet our friendly team who will be demonstrating how they can help you expand your business.

PENCARRIE

Leading distributor PenCarrie is once again to be found at the centre of the exhibition on Stand C40. The generous 100m² of space will be used to showcase the 250 new styles the company is stocking for 2010, including those from four of the brands new to PenCarrie’s portfolio. The new brands are Dunlop Workwear, Lee Cooper Workwear, Craghoppers outdoor clothing for travel and adventure, plus KooGa professional standard rugby kit. In addition to all the new products on view, a selection of other key styles drawn from the 50 or so brands that PenCarrie represents will also be on display.

“As always, our stand will be a place where people can take time not just to look at but also to handle products and really understand their special features. We’re also there to explain about the marketing support PenCarrie can offer and to have a two-way exchange about how else we might help customers in their day-to-day business dealings,” explains David Abrahams, PenCarrie’s marketing manager. Members of PenCarrie’s marketing, business development and customer services teams will all be on hand throughout the show. As well as discussing the products and services available, they will be delighted to demonstrate on a one-to-one basis the many ways in which various aspects of PenCarrie’s website can both simplify life (such as the online order pad) and even generate sales (it’s so easy to produce an ebrochure for example).
