Golden Finishes company secretary Jacky Gold took one giant leap for mankind when she took part in a charity abseil recently.
Brave Jacky, who was raising money for the Tenovus cancer charity, abseiled from the roof of the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.
Golden Finishes staff all donated to Jacky's first abseil, giving her massive support to such a worthwhile cause.
Losing Joyce, one of her long-standing employees, inspired her to working with cancer charities. Joyce died of cancer in her early fifties just before her son got his degree and had worked at Golden Finishes since almost the beginning.
Jacky says she is not very sporty but does frequent the gym 3-4 times a week to keep fit enough
She and her husband, the Golden Finishes chairman, have trekked Mexico and Macchu Picchu in Peru and even the Great Wall of China.
She loves challenges, has learned Spanish and is now embarking on a Mandarin course to further her travels, which she thinks "should be a challenge that is more awesome than abseiling down a tall building!" Jacky says of her daring attitude to life: "I learned to swim in my sixties and later this winter I am going snorkelling in the Galapagos Islands which will also be new to me.'
