The Institute of Direct Marketing (IDM) has chosen ecocard to provide environmentally friendly membership cards to its 4,000 plus members.
The institute is Europe's leading skills and qualifications provider for direct, data and digital marketing professionals.
With a robust commitment to reducing the environmental impact of its activities, the institute needed an environmentally friendly material when renewing its membership cards.
"Also," says membership director Caroline Robertson, "being a marketing institute, we had to ensure that our membership cards, which are the physical expression of our members' expertise, maintained and enhanced the Institute's brand image."
While the IDM was seeking a suitable supplier, ecocard MD Matt Payne received his institute membership pack and was convinced his company could deliver a smarter, slicker, environmentally friendly card, plus the back-up services needed to get these cards into the hands of thousands of IDM members worldwide. With an agency background, Matt also assured the IDM that he could maintain and enhance the IDM's brand integrity in the design and delivery of the cards.
In line with the institute's CSR policy the cards are made of Ingeo PLA, a plastic made from plants (sugar beet, potatoes and switchgrass) not oil, and they are compostable. Launched earlier this year, the cards come in three colours denoting grades of membership. Matt Payne said: "This is wonderful opportunity for ecocard to be associated with such an esteemed organisation and yet again proves our ability to deliver not only excellent customer service but also products that exactly echo the brand's ethos."
ecocard is a division of The Plastic Card Shop Ltd, which supplies membership, entry, discount, loyalty and identity cards to major brands including Austin Reed, Dove Spa, Gloucestershire County Council, Hackett, Harvey Nichols, Holiday Inn, RHS, La Senza and Southampton FC.
