Following the recent release of the new 539BT Tipped Polo Shirt, Jerzees is thrilled with the positive response with which it has been met so far.
The company is confident that the popularity of the 539BT will further increase in the next school year, as more decorators choose it for their school uniform offerings in 2006.
The shirt, with its contrast collar detailing, is aimed at schools that require an alternative to formal shirts, but a smarter uniform appearance than standard polos.
‘Our ongoing feedback from schools across the country suggests there is a real gap in the market for a casual alternative to shirts which still retains a smart edge, and our product development team has produced a superb garment to respond to this demand,’ explains Jane Saba, Product Development Manager for Jerzees.
The 539BT is constructed with Jerzees’ unique double yarn, based on the popular 539 adult and children polo range, which provides a smooth quality feel and increased durability for repeated washing and wearing Đ important criteria for any parent.
Another feature making this garment distinctive is the tipping, explains Mrs Saba, ‘The inclusion of tipping on the collar allows schools to differentiate their uniforms from other schools, or identify different ‘house’ colours within schools, whilst also providing a smarter appearance.
‘We have purposely chosen tipping colours which complement our already popular 762 raglan sweatshirts, which is ideal for schools who wish to retain a ‘uniform’ element with or without sweatshirts.’
The 539BT fits into Jerzees’ already well-established Schoolgear collection, which is regularly extended with new uniform garments in key school colours and styles.
Jackie Young, Jerzees’ Marketing Manager, said, ‘Ongoing market research has highlighted that parents tend to buy embroidered polos from schools at the start of the school calendar, but thereafter will buy from large retailers for the rest of the year.
‘The 539BT is clearly differentiated from low-cost High Street retailers’ polos, and will therefore generate loyalty to schools’ specific uniform collections. This not only makes business sense for schools but ensures pupils look smart and stylish in the playground, term after term.’
The striking contrast collar and cuff detailing of the 539BT Tipped Polo Shirt provides schools with a smarter uniform appearance in the key school colours than blank polo shirts, even when they are undecorated or worn on their own.
Not only is this ideal for recognising different ‘house’ colours or sports teams, it also helps decorators generate loyalty to school’s specific uniform collections.
Mrs Saba added, ‘Our ongoing market research has shown that parents tend to buy embroidered polos from schools at the start of the academic year, but thereafter will buy from large retailers.
‘The 539BT is clearly differentiated from retailers’ polos, and will therefore aid decorators in generating loyalty to schools’ specific uniform collections. This not only makes business sense for schools but ensures pupils look smart and stylish. The inclusion of tipping on the collar and cuffs also allows schools to differentiate their uniforms, or identify different ‘house’ colours, maintaining a smart appearance.
‘This is also a truly accessible garment and the size range is the first example in the schoolwear collection to be appropriate for everyone from 1 - 2 years to 16 years old, to cater for the larger primary school sizes and also the first few of years of secondary school.’
