Sponsored by Everything Environmental, The British Promotional Merchandise Association (bpma) is introducing a new category, The British Manufacturer of the Year Award, at this year's annual bpma awards to be held in January 2010.
Evan Lewis, entrepreneur behind Everything Environmental, created the concept of The British Manufacturer of the Year Award to highlight and celebrate the huge per centage of promotional merchandise that is made in the UK.
"Many people are unaware of how much we produce in Britain and Europe and presume that the goods are always shipped in from the Far East," said Mr Lewis.
Everything Environmental, is a trade only supplier specialising in personalised, recyclable and eco-friendly promotional gifts.
Mr Lewis continued: "There are endless environmental benefits to producing goods locally, carbon footprint being the most apparent and for that reason, when considering products as promotional gifts why not offer a British made option?
"Supporting the bpma displays our commitment to support British manufacturers and their importance to improving the ecological climate."
