Adelco chose Sign & Digital to exhibit the top of the range Kornit 931DS direct on Garment digital textile printer along with a hot air textile dryer from their own Jet Force range.
The machine was demonstrated printing various garments with opaque prints on to dark fabrics
The Kornit range was the first direct to garment digital machine available and has been a well known leader in this field since the end of 2004.
Kornit also claim to have the lowest ink cost per print in the industry.
Their new water-based inks produce screen print brightness, excellent wash fastness, crock resistance, stretch ability and pass the highest Oekotex 100 safety standards.
This printer and ink capability provides excellent print results on various fabrics including cotton, cotton/polyester mixes, polyester, fleece, denim and wool.
The new 932DS (single pallet) printer uses all the technology and experience that Kornit have supplied in the well known 931D (dual pallet) printers at a price that will allow a more affordable option.
It now has four white print heads instead of two for faster prints onto dark fabrics.
Printer capabilities of the 932DS and 931DS include:
- Opaque prints onto dark fabrics with a choice of one or two white base layers and CMYK with a highlight white. CMYK is printed straight over the base white with no intermediate drying required.
- No films or screens. Almost instant set up for each job enabling print jobs to be run quickly whether just one print or 500 prints.
- Two options in level of Onyx RIP that incorporate straight forward file preparation and automated adjustments to enable base and highlight whites.
- Choice of pallet types including adult, children's, sleeve and universal pallets.
- One man machine operation.
- Automatic fabric coating, adjustable to ensure the best print quality on all fabric types and thickness.
- On machine LCD screen with various functions to control machine/print head maintenance, print position, number of prints, fabric profiles, print job queuing etc.
- Inks cured through conventional hot air conveyor textile dryers.
- Spectra industrial print heads, designed to operate 24/7 for years.
Kornit recommend high velocity Jet Air dryers to maximise curing and minimise heat affect to fabrics.
Adelco manufacture standard conveyor dryers in gas fired or electric options as well as return belt dryers that take the garments back to the feed section so that the machine operator can fold and bag the garment in one operation.
