Sporting iD has been collaborating with The FA and Umbro for the past 18 months to develop the letters and numbers which appear on the England football team home playing kit for the 2009-11 period.
The new numbering/lettering typeface can also be affixed to all retail replica kit.
The kit was launched at Wembley Stadium before the international between England and Slovakia, which England won 4-0.
Sporting iD, a division of ITW Limited, is an official licensee to The FA and a long term supplier to Umbro.
Umbro brought together the art and traditional values of bespoken tailoring with modern fabric technology.
Sporting iD followed this strict brief and created a patented applied innovation combining laser cut/perforated fabric with a "minimum contact" bonding system.
The resulting lightweight heat transfer allows for the fabric within the numbers to be contained like a breathable "pocket" on the host shirt, while retaining optimum durability.
A high volume replica version for football fans was also originated.
Sporting iD have a robust manufacturing supply chain with designers and people with experience of every aspect of industrial and retail application - with distribution to the England kit manager and to official retailers of England replica kits anywhere in the world.
Sporting iD are creators of sport iDentity names, numbers and badges for some of the world's greatest clubs, leagues and nations.
