Hot foil stamping system launched by KAMA
Published:  05 May, 2009

KAMA has announced the UK launch of a hot foil stamping system for the ProCut 53 - the world's first flatbed A3 die cutter for offset and digital printers. The new hot foil stamping module finishes the most intricate scripts and designs with all kinds of hot foils at a rate of up to 5,000 sheets per hour.

KAMA say that additional applications - flat hot foil and embossed hot foil - make the KAMA ProCut 53 into a truly superb finishing die cutter and embossing can be handled in a single throughput. CEO, Marcus Tralau said: "Our customers will be able to exploit the wide range of possibilities hot foil stamping offers to create threedimensional gloss and tactile effects and use that to distinguish their products from those of their competitors."

The new module for the ProCut 53 is based on the proven hot foil stamping module for KAMA's multi-functional die cutter ProCut 74.

This new module for A3 format works with four separately controlled heating zones and comes with a choice of one or two independently controlled foil feeders. The hot foil stamping can be carried out within 510 x 360 mm (die cutting up to 510 x 380 mm).

Between five to ten minutes, the ProCut 53's warm-up time for hot foil stamping is extremely short.

The changeover from hot foil stamping to die cutting is equally short, so that the die cutter can be used for many different jobs in the course of a single day. When changing from one application to another, the insulated frame containing the heating plates is simply exchanged for the chase with the die cutting tools.
