There were many successes for embroidery manufacturers at the exhibition, none more so than with Barudan.
The company exhibited a selection of its leading machines including eight and four head models which attracted plenty of interest across the three days.
The company's office manager Dave Crabtree felt it had been a rewarding event that had offered an excellent opportunity for the firm to showcase its products.
He said: "While preparing for Printwear and Promotion we wondered what effect the economic gloom and doom being reported in the media would have on what has become the main exhibition for the embroidery trade. We resisted the temptation to reduce the size of the stand because we wanted to be able to demonstrate a range of machines.
As soon as the doors opened any concerns disappeared as the Barudan stand attracted many potential customers and this pattern continued throughout the show. As well as seeing some long established Barudan customers we noticed a significant increase in the number of enquiries from people who were new to the industry or who had previously bought machines from other manufacturers.
Our display of an eight head, four head and several single head machines attracted a lot of interest and the layout of the stand still allowed areas for quiet discussions with customers wanting specific information about a machine or who wanted to discuss the new barudan fixed price machine service contracts and extended warranties.
Those attending the exhibition may have seen the "Bank of Barudan £50 note". Instead of giving a conventional paper discount voucher, we embroidered a bank note which not only showed the stitch quality produced by Barudan machines but allowed the holder to a £50 discount off a machine price, frame bundles, training and other services. This bank note proved to be so popular we had to produce additional copies on the machines on the stand! The benefits of attending Printwear and Promotion extend beyond the exhibition itself as we continue to receive telephone enquiries and orders from people who visited the stand.
Overall, the orders placed during the show and the level of enquiries from potential customers mean that Printwear and Promotion is well worth attending." For more information visit www.barudan.co.uk
