Quadra
New school bag designs that add up
Published:  03 March, 2009

Bags specialist, Quadra has updated the traditional school backpack with its launch of two new designs that bring a dash of sophistication and style to the classroom.

The QD450 Infant Backpack and QD459 School Backpack are guaranteed to stand out from the mountain of conventional backpacks in the schoolyard, with their cubist designs that mirror current bag offerings from some of the upmarket retail brands.

"The aim was to create a new generation of school bags: products that offer a bit more sophistication for today's ever more discerning youngsters," Quadra's Iain Lamb comments. "The bags deliver all the functionality and safety features of a conventional school bag, but offer something extra in terms of aesthetic appeal. We are confident that the new designs add real value to Quadra customers' schools offering."

The most obvious feature of the new bags is their squared profile allied to curved lines. This creates not only a modern look, but also provides extra space inside the bags - especially for taller items, such as textbooks. Made from 600D polyester, the two bags feature high visibility piping to the zippered front pocket, and ‘Blazer Saver' shoulder straps. The constant movement of conventional shoulder straps against a child's school uniform can result in unsightly pilling, which spoils the uniform's appearance and cause it to wear our prematurely. By introducing the Blazer Saver feature in the main contact areas, Quadra is seeking to minimise this problem, giving parents and schools another reason to opt for the QD450 and QD459 as the children's school bag of choice.

The QD450 Infant Backpack has a 10-litre capacity. The main compartment is complemented by the aforementioned zippered front pocket and two side pouch pockets, (which are large enough to store a drinks bottle.) There is a name card on the back of the bag for children's personal details and a grab handle on the top.

The 18-litre capacity QD459 is geared more towards older pupils. It adds an internal organiser section, plus CD/MP3 player compatibility, (including a headphone port),

Both bags come in Bright Royal, Classic Red and French Navy colours, with the BG459 also available in Black, to appeal to older children.
