Fruit of the Loom has expanded its successful school wear collection with the launch of the new Children's Long Sleeve 65/35 Polo. The new style fills an important gap in the modern school wear wardrobe, states the company.
"The Children's Long Sleeve 65/35 Polo offers an alternative to the short sleeve Children's 65/35 Polo, providing greater warmth and comfort during colder weather," explains Alison McKenzie, Brand Director. "The new style also caters for those children that want to wear a polo shirt as the basis of their school uniform, but choose to keep their arms covered in public for reasons of modesty or religious belief."
The Children's Long Sleeve 65/35 Polo uses Fruit of the Loom's familiar and proven 65% polyester/35% cotton pique fabric (170/180 gm/m2). The easy care fabric is extremely durable and is guaranteed to perform at a 60°C wash, for effective deep cleaning. The polo has a 1x1 rib flat knit collar, two-button fused placket with self-coloured buttons, reinforced shoulder seams, taped neckline, and ribbed cuffs with elastane.
"Parents like to buy school polos with ‘growing room', so that the garment fits the child for the full academic year. To help with this we've added a ribbed cuff with elastane rather than a standard open cuff. This enables the pupil to push the sleeve up the arm to ensure the sleeve length is not too long."
The new polo is available in sizes, 3-4 years to 14-15 years, and in five of the most popular school colours: Deep Navy, Red, Royal Blue, Sky Blue, and White. As well as an item of uniform, the polo makes an ideal cricket or tennis shirt, or general sports top for gym or PE lessons.
Fruit of the Loom is shortly launching a new Schoolwear brochure that showcases the company's entire school wear collection.
Featured garments include the Children's 65/35 Polo, (Fruit of the Loom's best-selling school wear style), the Children's Raglan and Set-In Sweats, and the Children's Sweat Jacket, (which is proving especially popular with schools that operate a ‘no hoodies' policy). The brochure will also present full details of the Children's Valueweight T, Hooded Sweats, Jog Pants, Outdoor Fleece and College Jacket, (which is available in Bright Yellow for enhanced pupil visibility). The brochure will contain no prices or contact details for Fruit of the Loom and will have an area on the back cover for customers to overprint their own logo and address information.
In the meantime, details of the Fruit of the Loom school wear collection are available via the company's website, on the Schoolwear micro site, which includes an e-catalogue that can be emailed directly to customers, advice on maximising school wear sales, and the Create Your Uniform tool, which allows you to upload a school badge or design and view it on any of the company's school wear styles.
