Beechfield's new B38 Urban Army Cap is strong on streetwise styling and imbued with upfront urban appeal.
Army caps have been the hot ticket in promo headwear for the past two years. On the high street, the basic army cap style has undergone a continuous process of development over this time, with the introduction of new fabrics, colours and design details. Having been one of the first headwear brands to bring army caps to the promotional market, Beechfield has wasted no time in interpreting these developments for its trade customers. The B38 Urban Army Cap is one of the resultant new designs.
The standout feature of the B38 is its fabric. The heavy washed cotton fabric gives the cap a fashionable vintage appearance. This is complemented by the herringbone weave, which adds surface interest and greatly increases the cap's perceived value. "The new fabric is a statement in itself," says Beechfield's Roger McHugh. "The washed-out and worn-in look continues to be very popular and really suits the army cap design. We've boosted the overall effect by offering the new cap in Vintage Black, Vintage Olive and Vintage Stone colours, reinforcing the product's trendy, military motif."
The cap has a large front panel, which provides lots of room for a large badge, print or embroidery. The crown is made up of several stitched panels, further adding to the vintage look. Brass effect eyelets on the sides provide the finishing design touches, while the Rip-StripTM fastener ensures a comfortable fit for all heads.
Roger views the B38 - in Vintage Black, in particular - as the ideal choice for the music market, and sees university shops and student events organisers as other obvious buyers. However, he is quick to mention that the B38's appeal stretches much further than the concert hall and campus. "Urban wear is so popular at present that I can see the B38 being used for everything from edgy product promotions to coffee shop staff uniforms," he comments.
Other Beechfield styles that are currently selling well to urban wear customers include: the new B834 Organic Cotton Army Cap and B34b Junior Army Cap; the distressed-look B53 Low Profile Vintage Cap; and the festival-goers favourite - the B86 Vintage Chino Cotton Bucket Hat.
