Time to optimise production?
Published:  16 January, 2009

2009 will see the launch of the newest addition to the Barudan product range, the V series 18 head.

Barudan's 18-head will maximize production while special head alignment allows for large 450 mm x 380 mm sewing field.

The superior weld frame construction and power of it's servomotor with positive needle drive enables increased production capabilities while attaining top sewing speeds.

Eighteen sewing heads achieving a genuine1000 stitches per minute, you can rely on the V series to run quietly and maintain pinpoint stitching through a variety of materials.

The V series also makes life easier for the operator. Enhanced colour displays ensure clear, precise instruction and a laser light, fitted as standard makes the lining up of a design a much simpler task, thereby reducing the risk of costly errors.

"The new machine is set to be a big success and will compliment our existing range perfectly," says Dave Crabtree, general manager of Barudan UK.

"We are excited in bringing this product to market and feel that it will be of great benefit to the larger embroidery house that is looking to maximise production and efficiency. "

One company has already recognised the potential in this new innovation. Slick Stitch, one of the UK's largest contract embroidery houses are about to take delivery of the first 18 head machine. Slick stitch currently has over 200 heads and this is set to grow in 2009.

Barudan are very happy to be supporting them in their quest for quality embroidery pieces.

Inder Jain, MD of Slick Stitch adds: "With the embroidery market becoming ever more competitive, we have to look at anything that will increase productivity and reduce costs.

The falling value of Sterling and increasing prices from the Far East means that the price differential between in house and off shore embroidery is negligible. When you take into account the benefits of controlling production and being able to monitor quality control and offer rapid lead times, the in-house option becomes more attractive.

We have forged a great partnership with everyone at Barudan. Their machines are excellent and we are delighted with the introduction of the 18 head, which will reduce our production costs and help us to cope with our increasing order book.

With the help of Barudan, we intend to increase our capacity to 350 heads by the end of 2009 and 400 by the end of 2010.

We know we can rely on the speed, efficiency and reliability of Barudan machines. A new machine can be installed with minimal disruption, which allows me to concentrate on other areas of the business. One project we are excited about is a new state-of-the -art warehouse management system and online order tracking to customers requiring more than just contract embroidery"
