PenCarrie's portfolio of brands and products for 2009 is more impressive than ever with the addition of over 325 garments and accessories, all beautifully introduced in a special New Products supplement as well as featuring in the company's main brochure.  There are collections from four brands new to PenCarrie, namely Dickies (durable workwear and industrial footwear); Pen Duick (sailing inspired outerwear); Stormtech (performance clothing for the outdoor enthusiast); and RTXTRA.

"Colour, fashion-forward design, performance fabrics and ‘green' attributes all continue to drive innovation in clothing and accessories and this is clearly reflected in the new product selections for 2009," comments Tony Lock, PenCarrie's managing director.

Four new brands in the portfolio

The four new brands in PenCarrie's portfolio account for more than 50 of the new products available for 2009.  Dickie's is renowned for its durable workwear and PenCarrie is stocking 18 of its clothing styles plus several different types of industrial footwear (PenCarrie is also stocking Regatta's new safety footwear range, plus new softshell and other outerwear clothing styles).  New brand Pen Duick has a strong nautical heritage which is reflected in all their 11 jackets and gilets.  Stormtech's advanced waterproof/breathable apparel has a committed following and PenCarrie has selected 11 jackets and tops, for men and women.

Plus some new sub-brands

Also available from PenCarrie for 2009 are new sub-branded collections from a number of other leading manufacturers. These include Kustom Kit's ‘Bargear' range which combines innovative stretch fabrics with inspired styling details.  Kariban Sailing brings six clothing styles to the UK market: the shirts, chunky sweater and men's shorts all bear the hallmarks of French contem-porary design.

New styles from the stalwarts

Quality stalwarts adding to their ranges include Jerzees Colours (16 new jackets including two gilets); and Jerzees Schoolgear (new contemporary outerwear styles for youngsters). Russell Workwear has added a fashion-oriented twill jacket said to be ‘perfect for the modern workforce'.  In corporatewear, Russell Collection has two new ranges: the Ultimate Non-Iron shirts collection; plus the Enhanced Casual tops collection;  and Kustom Kit introduces nine formal business shirts for men and women; plus two softer styled corporate tops for women.  Fashion-forward Skinnifit (embracing Skinni Minni and Skinnifitmen) has 15 new styles.  The line-up includes fitness leggings for women, extending the brand's exercise/yoga collection.

Result has developed a dozen new outerwear styles for men, women and children.  Amongst these are TECHPerformance jackets (fully waterproof, breathable, 3-layer performance styles).  Just Hoods from AWDis now offers Zoodies: zip-through hoodies for men, women and children; plus a heavyweight Street Hoodie which has design details such as thumbholes in the cuffs.

Other brands are also maintaining their leading positions with some exciting additions.  Premier, known for corporate wear and catering wear, adds to their lively ‘Colours' collection with a new slim business tie and a full length apron.  There's also a smart new double-cuff business shirt and a smart-casual performance jacket.  Henbury, specialising in superbly crafted relaxed clothing for business and leisure, adds eight classically tailored but highly individual styles.  Mumbles has extended its teddy bear family to include new bear Zippy, cleverly designed so that his tummy can be decorated!  The furry fun-filled range also includes some delightful new characters: Daisy the Cow, Rufus the Dog and Ellie the Elephant.

Bags and bags of eco/ethical options

Bag brand Quadra, its colourful counterpart BagBase, and volume-promotions partner Westford Mill have all introduced new designs including a number of  ‘Eco-Options': all popular designs now being engineered in materials that are kind to the environment.  In total, PenCarrie is stocking 10 new bags from Quadra, seven from BagBase and seven from Westford Mill.

Okarma, whose entire range is eco-ethical from seed to shop, is piloting the use of a completely new material made from recycled plastic bottles for two of its new products (a fleece jacket and a shopper).  Fruit of the Loom enters the organic arena with organic cotton Ts for men, women and children (there are eight other new tops available too).  Flying the flag for Fairtrade, Wombat is offering five new Fairtrade garments for 2009.

Sport for all

Teamwear, hugely successful in 2008, is extended too: by Tombo, Kustom Kit Gamegear® and Finden & Hales.  Tombo's six new styles include a base layer for children and, for adults, a new tracksuit made from a super lightweight material to minimise friction and maximise performance.  Kustom Kit Gamegear® also offers six new styles, with fresh colour options and new technology in the form of the Cooltex range.  Finden & Hales has added eight teamwear styles for men, women and children; plus three kit bags and two caps in colourways that co-ordinate with the clothing.  Kariban Sport pitch in with six new styles.

PenCarrie's golfwear brands have also introduced an impressive number of new styles: adidas refreshes its range with four new tops; Ashworth Golf offers ten elegant new-look ‘classics';  Callaway brings a dozen new styles; and Glenmuir has nine new designs for 2009.
