Mascot launches Mini kidswear range and new boot
Published:  01 December, 2008

Workwear manufacturer Mascot has launched a range of children's workwear garments - trousers, a breathable, wind and waterproof Pilot Jacket and a Soft Shell Jacket with exactly the same appearance as its adult clothing.

The idea behind Mascot Mini is to enable youngsters to match their Mums and Dads, whether on a trip to the playground, or outside to help with the weekend chores. The road from workwear to children's workwear was natural and easy progression, said the company. "Workwear and children's wear must both be practical, have a high wear resistance, be suitable for different weather conditions and be soft and comfortable to wear," it said.

The children's workwear has the correct straps and pockets for tools just like Mum and Dad's workwear and there are the same special details such as ribbed cuffs and a storm flap on the Pilot Jacket. But the children's products have some child-friendly details, such as a regulating waistband on the trousers.

The Mascot Mini products are available in sizes to fit 4 - 12 year-olds.

Mascot has also launched a new Safety Boot with integrated ankle protection, in the form of many layers, which protect the ankle bone from the side by repelling and absorbing pressure and blows.

The Kalindi Safety Boot is one of the models to feature this new ankle protection. A stabilising insert - a multifunction shank - in the heel also helps to reduce the risk of twisting injuries.

At the same time it stabilises the boot from underneath, ideal for those who have to work on ladders for long periods, says Mascot. Walking comfort is also greatly improved with a shock absorbing pad in the heel to absorb concussion.

Mascot's anatomically formed toe cap development is also integrated into the Kalindi. All safety shoes have a toe cap, but Mascot's solution was to develop a more comfortable version.

At the same time, it provides more protection in both width and length and is formed asymmetrically so it does not press on the top of the foot when for example crouching.
