Hardwearing clothing suitable both for the weather and for the working conditions is a key requisite in this sector, says PenCarrie, adding that the layering of different styles usually provides the best solution.  The principal brands of RTY, Russell Workwear and Premier all offer a good range of purpose-designed separates, including outerwear, to enable companies to mix and match styles to suit.  Outerwear by Result is also much in demand.  Every level of Result jacket is available from PenCarrie, from the most sophisticated multi-featured style to simpler designs.  One of the most popular choices for workwear, says the company, is Result's RS124 Ripstop Softshell Jacket.  This is lightweight, rain resistant, windproof and breathable.  It also has durable Cordura® panels on shoulders and elbows; and 3M^TM Scotchlite^TM reflective piping.

When it comes to workwear performance polos best sellers include the 599M Russell Workwear Hardwearing Pique Polo Shirt, which can be washed at 60°C; and RTY Workwear's RT01 Heavyweight Pique Polo Shirt, which is available in sizes up to 10XL.

Safety wear forms a category in its own right and can be a crucial element of workwear, adds PenCarrie.  Special clothing is available from RTY, from their High Visibility and Enhanced Visibility collections.  Result also offer high visibility clothing within their Safeguard range.  Best sellers include RTY's HV74 and Result's RS211 (which both conform to EN471: class 2).  Both are waistcoat styles and are ideal for wearing over other clothing whenever visibility (for example, when directing site vehicles) is a must.
