Team headwear from Beechfield
Published:  31 October, 2008

Supplying a set of co-ordinated headwear is a sure-fire way to make a group of individuals feel and behave like a team, says promotional headwear specialist Beechfield. Caps and hats are the most visible of teamwear items, and adding a team crest, name or logo further enhances the sense of togetherness and team spirit.

Beechfield supplies three Teamwear branded products: the B171 Teamwear Competition Cap; B171b Junior Teamwear Competition Cap; and, new for 2008, the B49 Teamwear Beanie Knitted Hat. The three products are targeted specifically at the rapidly growing market for team-themed apparel and provide decorators with a golden opportunity to win add-on sportswear sales.

The B171 Teamwear Competition Cap is made from 100% brushed cotton twill and features an uninterrupted front panel for maximum branding opportunities. The cap owes its sporty looks to the white piping that swoops down from above the Rip-Strip size adjuster, around both sides of the cap and extends onto the pre-formed peak. Contrast colour twill is used in the areas above and below the piping on all but the new black/white and French navy/white options. There are a dozen colourways in total, with seven new additions this year: black/classic red/white; black/white; bottle green/black/white; bright royal/black/white; French navy/white; orange/black/white; and yellow/black/white.

"The number of new colourways added for 2008 reflects the rapid growth in demand for team headwear," says Beechfield's Roger McHugh, adding that the B171 is popular not only with sports teams, but also with employers looking to add impact to their staff uniforms. "For example, the product demonstrators at Costco's UK cash and carry outlets wear the Classic red/black/white B171, which matches their uniforms and aprons," Roger reports.

The B171b Junior Teamwear Competition Cap offers all the appeal of the B171, in children's sizes. Perfect for kids' sports teams and group activities, it is available in five colourways.

The B49 Teamwear Beanie Knitted Hat is the most recent addition to the collection. This sporty beanie offers an insulated alternative to the B171 Teamwear Competition Cap for use in colder weather. The hat is knitted with twin narrow stripes around the edge, mirroring the detailing on the B171. It is available in six colourways, all of which are also available in the B171.

"The B49 is ideal for winter team sports and team building activities, and is an especially practical choice for mid-week evening training sessions," Roger McHugh comments. "The affordability of both the B171 and B49, and the availability of matching colourways in both styles, invites teams to issue their members with one of each. That way, the team image could be maintained whatever the prevailing weather," he adds.
