PenCarrie agrees that teamwear has seen extraordinary growth in 2008. "It's a brilliant concept that has been embraced by the major sportswear brands as well as the public," comments the company. "The clothing scores highly because you can now deck out entire teams, male or female, adult or junior in co-ordinating kit that fits."
PenCarrie has played its part by stocking a huge number of new styles introduced this year, all of which come in a choice of contrast colourways. New styles include 12 from Tombo Teamwear, 13 from Kustom Kit Gamegear and 32 from Finden+Hales.
PenCarrie also offers new designs of bags from BagBase and caps from Beechfield introduced specifically to co-ordinate with the teamwear collections.
Four Teamwear Performance tops introduced by Tombo this year are made from IQ moisture management fabric which wicks moisture away from the skin to keep the wearer dry and cool during exertion. Two of these new Teamwear Performance styles are for men (TL63 Sports T-Shirt and TL64 Polo Shirt); and two styles are for women (TL66 Sports T-Shirt and TL68 Polo Shirt).
‘Formula Racing' is the sub-brand that Kustom Kit Gamegear has given to three of its latest styles, all of them motor-sport inspired. They are the K611 Formula Racing Pique Polo Shirt, K186 Short Sleeve Formula Racing Shirt and the waterproof K953 Formula Racing Jacket.
PenCarrie highlights the importance of teamwear by giving each of the three collections available (namely, Finden & Hales, Tombo Teamwear and Kustom Kit Gamegear) a one-page introduction in its brochure. The group photos that feature provide an instant visual explanation of the ‘mix and match' concept of teamwear, which is useful as these ranges, especially that of Finden+Hales, offer such variety. Finden+Hales even offers a Team Towel (LV970).
PenCarrie also stocks team accessories from BagBase and Beechfield. Bags and caps are, the company says, an important element of teamwear and contribute significantly to team spirit.
Three of the latest sports bags from BagBase are designed to co-ordinate with the teamwear clothing collections and according to PenCarrie are regularly bought as part of the overall teamwear order. Choices are BagBase's Teamwear Gymsac (BG570); Teamwear Backpack (BG571); and Teamwear Holdall (BG572), all available in a wide range of colourways.
Caps are also a popular purchase when kitting out a team. Beechfield's BB171 Teamwear Competition Cap, plus the BB171B children's equivalent, are obvious choices.
