The European Tour's flagship event has been a hailed a great success - on and off the golf course.
While Argentinean Angel Cabrera was fending off the challenge of Irishman Paul McGinley to win a thrilling BMW Championship at Wentworth Club, official merchandiser Premier Style was proving an equally worthy winner in the fashion stakes.
The Bedfordshire-based clothing company's feature European Tour Golf Collection, which boasts The European Tour's revered brand logo, was a real hit in the late-spring sunshine at the Surrey course.
'We were thrilled by the response we got from the spectators regarding the collection and, luckily, we were well merchandised for the warm weather,' said Premier Style Managing Director Michelle Bray as temperatures rose into the high 80s on the second day of competition.
'We were absolutely delighted with the professional department store environment and the shop floor space provided allowed customers to browse and buy in comfort. Sales were excellent with many customers commenting on the extensive range available to buy.'
The focal point of Premier Style's European Tour Golf Collection at the merchandising pavilions at Wentworth was its vibrant spring and summer 2005 range entitled 'On Tour On You'.
It included stylish men's and ladies' polo shirts and mock turtle necks, golf suits, fashionable outerwear, trousers and shorts and knitwear. It also boasted an array of must-have accessories.
Premier Style, whose headquarters is in Eversholt, near Woburn, has also been appointed official European Tour merchandiser for The Barclays Scottish Open at Loch Lomond from July 7-10.
Peter Adams, Tournament Director for The Barclays Scottish Open, said, 'Premier Style has got a professional team which has put together an excellent range of clothing. It enables us to provide a wide range of quality merchandise for people to buy in the tournament village.'
The early entries for Loch Lomond are headed by world number three Ernie Els, former champion Colin Montgomerie, Daily Telegraph Dunlop Masters champion Thomas Bjorn and defending champion Thomas Levet.
The confirmation of Premier Style's involvement at the Tom Weiskopf-designed Loch Lomond - the second of a three-year merchandising deal - is another appropriate touch to already classy proceedings.
