The company took delivery of the 8-head machines a few months ago, following a successful trial period. 

AJS recommended the Tajima machines to Fanela due to the high levels of promotional work the company undertakes.

Pete Elkington, Fanela's embroidery manager, explains: "A big outlay like this has got to be right. We thought long and hard about it and in the end we picked Tajima. The machines are well suited to our needs as the promotional work we do requires a lot of text embroidery, and these machines are very good at it. They produce nice clear, crisp text."

The machines have raised Fanela's embroidery output by 25%, said Elkington, and helped it with its production of up to 3,000 garments a day. "These machines are so important to us. We wouldn't meet our production schedule without them," he added.

The machines were installed within a day, without any disruption to production, said Elkington, and AJS provided full training for the embroidery staff. "The after sales service from AJS has been great," he said.

Fanela now has four Tajimas and four Barudans, all 8-head machines.
