Jerzees Schoolwear
"Ticks all the Boxes"
Published:  07 October, 2008

When it comes to selecting a supplier there is no one element that will single out one from another, says Jerzees. "Quality is not enough without choice, choice not enough without a strict ethical code etc. With Jerzees Schoolgear we tick all the boxes that we believe to be fundamental to enable our customers to provide schools with the best service and from which to build a solid and sustainable relationship: quality, ethics, choice, stock accessibility and the Jerzees Schoolgear Pledge."

Quality

"We all know school is a tough environment for clothes. However, our Quality Control team is tougher still," says Jerzees. Based at Russell Europe's head office, quality controllers travel the globe making sure that its suppliers stick to the company's strict guidelines. They also work with the high-tech in-house lab testing everything from cold-water staining to pilling, snagging, colour-fastness, and abrasion - all in accordance with the international industry standards for assessment.

Ethics

Jerzees Schoolgear believes worldwide ethical practices and principles are now more important than ever. "We work to a strict code of practice to help ensure none of our manufacturing processes put the environment at risk," it says. "Equally vital is the welfare of the people who make our garments, wherever they are in the globe."

Underlining these guidelines is the company's Öko-Tex certification (since 1997) and commitment to having all its manufacturers WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Apparel Production) accredited.

Schoolgear Pledge

"If any item of schoolgear purchased within the current school year does not meet performance expectations we will exchange it absolutely free of charge (excluding decoration costs)," it says.

Choice

Style Range - a total of 15 styles are available, from t-shirts to polo shirts, jog pants to fleeces and cardigans to reversible jackets.

Colours - A school is known by the colour of its uniform, says Jerzees Scholgear, claiming its range of schoolgear is one of the widest in the country. "And we keep the same core school colours available year on year to keep your school's identity consistent year on year," it adds.

Sizes - Jerzees Schoolgear caters for toddlers through to teens. Child sizes start from 1-2 years (height 90cm) and go up 11-12 years (152cm), moving through playgroup, nursery, infant and on to final years of primary/junior school. The majority of styles extend further to adult sizes/styles providing the casualwear uniform across secondary school.

The Core range

The JS portfolio is led by the 762 sweatshirt, the no.1 choice for thousands of UK schools in the last 10 years, it says. This is available in male, female and child styles, 14 colours  and with a size range from 1-2 years up to a 50" chest. The 762 family extends to a v-neck pullover, buttoned cardigan and hooded sweatshirt.

It is supported by the Jerzees Schoolgear 539 Classic Polo Shirt, also available in a tipped version, 539BT and 539MT, which are particularly suitable for school sports kits.
