Digital textile printing materials have progressed considerably in recent years. Today's printable films on offer from Grafityp UK provide more choice and the ability to produce full colour detailed graphics easily with the aid of a digital printer and heat application press.
Grafityp UK offers a range of printable textile films in The Grafiflex Grafi-C-Print collection produced by Siser. Available in 500 and 750mm roll widths, these films are suitable for use on solvent, eco-solvent and thermoresin printers and provide a choice of products with various properties to ensure best results are achieved on a variety of fabrics.
A brief outline of the films gives an idea of the various options available. Grafiflex Grafi-C-Print is a standard printable film suitable for use on such materials as polyester, cotton or polyester/cotton mixes.
Grafi-C-Print New is for application on the same materials as the standard but is a thinner film. Grafi-C-Print Evolution is a new soft and stretchy printable flex with a self-adhesive backing to hold work in place during application. It has instant drying properties, which can prove invaluable if you're against the clock as there is no need to wait before transferring to garments, says Grafityp.
Grafi-C-Print Extra is produced for application on to difficult fabrics such as nylon, leather and lightly siliconed garments, making it ideal for use on sportswear and the like.
Grafi-C-Print Crystal is a transparent film for use on cotton, polyester and polyester/cotton mixes, while Grafi-C-Print Glitter is a special effect film for normal textiles (without silicone treatment). This film is extremely opaque even on dark fabrics, says Grafityp.
"All of these films are ideal for printing on such machines as the Roland VersaCAMM, which will not only print the media but also contour cut it for you too," says Grafityp.
Grafityp stocks the Roland VersaCAMM in four models: SP-300V, SP-540V, VP-300 and VP-540, as well as a number of other solvent and eco-solvent printers from Roland, Mutoh and DGI, for which ink supplies are also readily available.
All of the digitally printed films require heat pressed application. The range of 14 machines available from Grafityp includes the TS-One from Siser, SEFA Presses and G-Presses, catering for all budgets and business sizes. There are clam and swing away plate options in various sizes, cap presses, manual and automatic machines, so whatever your needs they can be fulfilled.
For small format desktop printers, Grafiflex Transfer-Jet and Transfer Laser paper are available for use on white or light coloured garments. The design is simply printed on to the A4 or A3 sized paper using an inkjet or laser printer and applied using a hot iron.
