TheMagic Touch
Transfer innovation
Published:  07 October, 2008

TheMagicTouch continues 2008 with more image transfer innovation covering many aspects of garment decoration.

One such innovation is TheMagicTouch transfer papers, which are engineered to incorporate new catalysts within the paper coating, providing the ultimate compatibility with most digital dry-toners available.

"One significant advance has been the development of advanced composition of polymer dry-toners used by many of the major printer and copier manufacturers," explains the company. "The new toners enable printing onto products and items that do not require any special coating or polyester content, thus making the polymer, pigment and catalyst as the all-in-one transfer. The new toners also give improved durability to all fabric based transfers, especially 100% cotton."

The proprietary process and patented transfer papers enable users to print onto a multitude of products and substrates with one-of-a-kind results, cost effectively, says TheMagicTouch.

TheMagicTouch offers professional solutions that are easy to incorporate into an existing business with low entry level investment required. The new TMT/Oki printers cost less than £500 and can be used for everyday business use as well as transfer papers. This year has seen "barriers removed" with the printing of non-white garments and textiles with the new "award winning" WoW transfer paper for application on 100% cotton, nylon, denim, leather, neoprene, polyester and most sportswear fabrics.

The company also introduces new versions of CPM6.2 and CPM6.4 transfer paper suitable for the transfer of full colour images to a wide range of non-porous, non-coated substrates including ceramics, plastic, metal, glass, acrylic, magnetic, wood and more recently Unibind folders and binders.

New additions to the existing MagiCut range of cutable vinyl and films arrive soon, with 39 new unique garment decoration options. These include new snakeskin, marble and special "paint effect" which TheMagicTouch expects will create lots of interest within the fashion and corporate markets.

Another innovation has been the introduction of the new MagiCut 6.0 Professional software designed to encompass all aspects of garment decoration, but combined with user friendly aspects for all levels of design competence. TheMagicTouch has expanded its training facility in Dunstable to increase the availability of places for the database and CRM courses as well as the MagiCut 6.0 Professional.

So where is the market for digital decoration? According to TheMagicTouch 92% of businesses in the UK employ less than 24 people. "So maybe there is a big un-tapped market of people and businesses that have always wanted decorated workwear, leisurewear or sportswear but just don't want too many, need them on a regular basis and want to see a sample in advance!" it says.
