Its answer to this was to create the Finden+Hales Piped Microfleece Collection (Men's LV550, Ladies' LV551 and Kids' LV552).

Microfleece, as a fabric, is knitted tighter than regular fleeces, explains Finden+Hales, which makes it more protective against the elements. The fact that the fibres are smaller and shorter also makes it more lightweight than a regular fleece fabric, while its soft, smooth surface allows for various methods of decoration.

"The Piped Microfleece would be a fantastic addition to any team kit whilst remaining in keeping with team colours - an easy way to protect your team from the British weather!" says the company.

"Our Microfleece fabric is treated with an anti-pilling agent which prevents any unsightly bobbling. The full-zip on the front makes it easy to throw on during training; the side welt pockets have zips to keep your valuables safe; and the hem has a toggle so you can tighten it when it gets chilly."

The Men's LV550 Piped Microfleece comes in four colourways including black/red/white, navy/royal/white, sky/navy/white and red/black/white. Available from a S-XXL, this Microfleece can be thrown on over a kit for outside activities or just to keep warm.

The Ladies' LV551 is available in black/red/white, navy/royal/white and sky/navy/white and comes in sizes S-XXL with shaped sides seams to give it that femininity that is so often lost in sportswear.

The kids' LV552 Piped Microfleece comes in black/red/white and navy/royal/white and from the age of 7 through to 12.
