Ranks Enterprises has increased storage capacity by 50% with the purchase of the premises adjoining its Harrow showroom and distribution centre.
With an expanding range of garments and a desire to stock more colours and sizes, the availability of the premises next door undoubtedly came at just the right time, said Ranks.
The company moved to its current premises, which has storage capacity of around 23,000 sq. ft, in 2004. The purchase of the unit next door adds a further 11,000 sq. ft, which equates in ‘real' terms to extra warehouse space for some 700 pallet loads of garments.
The company provides a next day delivery service for orders placed by 4pm and the extra warehousing space will enable it to provide this level of service across more products, colours and sizes, whilst providing the space necessary for further expansion.
In addition to the distribution facility in Harrow, Ranks will continue to maintain a bulk storage facility of 180 pallet loads at Felixstowe in Suffolk.
On occasions where large quantities are not available from stock at Harrow, the company is able to deliver direct from Felixstowe and operate a next day service for orders placed by 1.00pm.
Ranks now has over 60 product lines in its range, providing high quality garments for corporate, leisure, school and work wear. Key lines for the company continue to be hoodies, sweatshirts, fleeces and polos.
