Vince Carr has recently joined the team, bringing with him a wealth of experience which will benefit both the company and its customers and his appointment fits in nicely with the ongoing expansion of the technical support side of YES, said the company.

"Service and support has always been a watchword of the company but we became aware that prospective technicians were not coming into the industry, which could have serious effects in the future," said md Roy Burton.

With this in mind, YES set about a development program to try and alleviate this situation. "But to train new technicians you need experienced ones so Vince's arrival in a way serves two purposes," explained Burton. "We are extremely lucky to get someone of Vince's calibre. He has tremendous expertise in his field as well as experience in other areas. We wanted to make sure that the development program we are currently running was applied to print as well as embroidery and Vince joining us gives us extra strength in that department."

As well as a thorough working knowledge of major graphics software, Carr is also experienced in the working and maintenance of digital imaging processes including DTG printers. He has, in the past, been heavily involved with textile ink, a knowledge that will allow him to serve DTG and YES well, as well as their customers.

NPI (new product introduction) is something else that Vince has been involved with, controlling development from initial trials all the way through to production. He is also well versed in the skills and etiquette of direct customer contact, said YES.

DTG has been a steadily growing product range at YES and the appointment of a dedicated print product technician will only serve to enhance this already successful area, added Burton.

"Having Vince Carr on board allows YES to maintain the standard of service and support that we have become known for, whether that be with embroidery or, as in this case, ink jet printing," he said.
