The Regatta range includes the bestselling RG045 Dover Waterproof Insulated Jacket which combines three performing layers. The Hydrafort polyester outer is windproof and also waterproof to beyond BS3424 standard. The Thermo-Guard insulation layer traps air and keeps the wearer warm, and the Symmetry fleece lining is super soft, warm and anti-pill.

Four ‘interactive' styles are also available within the Regatta range. These can be transformed into 3-in-1 jackets simply by adding an inner of one of a choice of nine Regatta fleece or softshell jacket styles (all easily identified in PenCarrie's latest update brochure by a special ‘interactive' logo). All 3-in-1 jackets are ideal for staff working outdoors for example in garden centres or outdoor activity centres. The jackets are also an excellent choice for all companies where staff spend a lot of time in the cold (such as architects and surveyors). Interactive jackets in the Regatta range are: RG002 Stance Waterproof Jacket; RG003 Ladies Stance Waterproof Jacket; RG004 Titan Waterproof Jacket; and RG007 Vertex II Jacket.

Softshell jackets are, says PenCarrie, popular in their own right. Result has added three softshell styles to its range for 2008, bringing the total number of this type of jacket available to eight. One of the new Result styles is the RS118 Ice Fell Hooded Softshell Jacket. With regard to Result's heavyweight 3-in-1 styles, PenCarrie reports that the RS68 3-in-1 Waterproof Zip and Clip Fleece Lined Jacket is a best-seller. Another Result style, the RS125 Hi-Active Horizon Jacket is also popular. This can be turned into a 3-in-1 jacket by adding the RS115 Horizon Micro Fleece Jacket as an inner.

Another PenCarrie best-seller comes from Kariban. The brand's mid-weight KB677 Parka Jacket is unisex, warm, windproof and water-resistant. An easy-towear 3/4 length style, it is available in a broad range of sizes (from XS right through to 3XL) and in 11 colourways. A lightweight Kariban style that's new for 2008 is the KB647 Windbreaker Jacket which folds away into one of its pockets. As PenCarrie says, although lightweight styles are ‘low-tech' they are in demand for outdoor festivals and sports events. Seasonal shops in tourist hot spots like to stock lightweight weather wear with local branding or fun slogans. The jackets are also good for corporate days; and for events such as team-building.

Slazenger also offers practical, attractive outerwear. Two of its softshell jackets are the SL30 Hooded Soft Shell Jacket (for men) and the SL35 Ladies Hooded Soft Shell Jacket. Design touches include the left sleeve contrast zip pocket, the chin cover on the contrast inner stormflap, and the longer back panel.
