The Quayside group is going from strength to strength. During the last two years the number of brands stocked has grown steadily and Quayside now stocks a comprehensive range including Fruit of the Loom, Stedman, Fanshirt, JHK, Mantis and Saf.
One of the biggest areas of growth for Quayside has been the Saf organic clothing brand. Saf was launched in 2005 and was the first wholesale clothing range to be accredited by the Soil Association.
Saf clothes feel good because they are good, says Quayside. Good for the environment, good for the people that produce them and good for the people that wear them. People love Saf because of the quality and values of the brand. Saf is designed for resellers that need to offer an environmentally sound, retail quality product.
In the words of one Saf customer: "Saf T-shirts are not prone to misshaping after washes, and are easy to print on. The colours are vibrant and also last well when washing. The feel of the fabric is far superior to any other organic cotton tee I have managed to get my hands on."
Attention to detail is what makes a Saf product stand out. Every detail in terms of the raw materials, processing and manufacturing has been reviewed in order to create superior products.
Quayside's Michael Conway says: "We have seen a steady increase in the demand for ethical and environmentally sound products and frequent requests from customers to extend the Saf range. In order to ensure proper stock support we have restricted the number of options in our range and kept stock levels high."
The good news is that the Saf range has now increased substantially in size with new products and additional fashion colours added to the range. Back neck labels have been removed from all Saf products so they are ideal for printers, embroiderers and promotional companies that need to insert a customer's label in the garment.
Saf's signature men's ring spun organic T-shirt, the SAF 8, is now available in 13 colours including strawberry, yellow, kelly green, pink and royal.
As well as adding new colours to the SAF range, there are a host of new styles, which include:
- SAF 29 men's polo-shirt, which is ideal for workwear, events and promotions. It is made from 100% organic cotton jersey so that it ideal for print or embroidery.
- SAF 40 men's rugby shirt and SAF 35 men's long sleeve T-shirt. In response to requests from its trade customers it has added these items to its range.
- SAF 45 Babies' Romper and SAF 46 Babies' T-shirt. Babies' wear is a key area which up until now the SAF range didn't cover. Mothers don't want their babies wearing clothes made from cotton that has been impregnated with pesticides, says Quayside. Accordingly, babies' items are now an important area for Saf.
Saf has recently launched an information website for printers and embroiderers. The website is designed to help trade customers market Saf products and carries no pricing information.
"Although people are becoming more aware, there is still confusion about ethical clothing and the reasons why it is important," says Quayside. "As well as showing details of all Saf products, colours and sizes, there is information on the background of Saf clothing and how it makes a difference to the environment and the people that produce Saf products. Farmers from their village in Gujarat who produce the organic cotton explain in their own words how changing to organic cotton farming has impacted on their lives."
Trade customers can link to the website for free simply by adding a link from their own website. The site can be found at www.organic-cotton-clothing.com
All Saf products are available from Quayside's trade only web site http://www.tradetag.co.uk/ . Tradetag has been designed to be the easiest way for trade customers to order their clothing requirements. The site is designed to be simple to use and navigate, but it integrates sophisticated technology. To return relevant results Tradetag's search looks at searches in a similar way to google searches, using synonyms and spelling correction.
Tradetag is not only the easiest but most convenient way to order. The site is accessible from home or work. It is open 24 hours a day, so customers can order wherever and whenever it is convenient for them. There is also full telephone support for those who want to speak to a human being. Online tracking is available 24 hours a day, allowing tradetag customers to login and see the status of their orders.
