REACH, the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals, is an EU regulation controlling chemicals and their safe use.  It came into force on 1 June 2007.

All EU countries are required by REACH to put appropriate enforcements arrangements in place. Defra's consultation seeks comments on the proposed UK enforcement authorities.

New faces at M&R

Geoff Baxter has been appointed manager of M&R's new Digital Division, and Andy Oleson has been appointed assistant manager.

Geoff Baxter previously served as President and co-founder of Atlantic Screen Supply, Inc. His 30-year industry career includes management positions with Logo-7, Harlequin Nature Graphics, Advance Process Supply Co., and Precision Screen Machines. Andy Oleson has held numerous positions in his long career at M&R, most recently as M&R's textile product manager.

New Appointments

Solo, a trade supplier of quality silver and leather promotional and business gifts has made two new appointments.

Andrew Llewellyn has joined as sales administrator and Kevin Wiles is now web marketing assistant. Llewellyn previously worked as a quality coordinator and then as a grey market trader for DCS Europe.

Wiles previously held various IT related jobs and worked with the UK Business Development Forum on its website and set up a local branch.
