Beezer has introduced a new low-pill yarn to its 2008 garment production.
Applicable to its fleece range of garments, the Beezer low-pill yarn reduces the pilling effect of the garment by allowing the raised bobbles to fall from the surface leaving a clean, pill free product.
Pilling, or bobbling as it is commonly referred to, occurs on manmade and natural fibres, which tend to pill after abrasion from wear and wash.
Beezer's new system allows the bobbles to be brushed off and washed off in the normal day-to-day wear and wash. "In essence the bobbles simply fall off, so garments look new for a longer period of time," said a spokesperson.
The low-pill yarns are manufactured to the company's individual specifications and have an inherent resistance to pilling. No additional chemicals are used to create the yarns, and as with all Beezer garments, independent lab reports can be supplied to back up performance claims.
The new yarn is in use on the fleece range of sweatshirts, jogging pants, cardigans, hooded tops and jackets, all of which maintain the normal 2008 price.
