Henbury
What women want
Published:  04 June, 2008

The corporate identity market has changed dramatically over the last few years and this has demanded that the market diversifies and caters for these demands, says Henbury.

Ladieswear now plays a vital part of any collection. Women are demanding to be given clothes that are designed specifically for women and not a unisex product.  Women, by nature, tend to care about their appearance and want to be seen to be keeping up with the trends and being aware of the shift in shapes and silhouettes.

"If they are requested to wear a uniform, a promotional product or a corporate image, women  want to be given clothes that they are actually proud to wear, that not only make them feel more confident but relate to their whole persona, improving their image and therefore the image of the company," says Henbury.

Henbury says it spotted the move towards specific ladieswear products many years ago and reacted with the launch of its ladies polo shirt in both the 100% cotton (H121) and 65% polyester and 35% cotton (H401).  These have continued to see great growth and the classic cotton polo shirt is now offered in 14 colours and the 65/35 in 15 colours.

Every year Henbury extends its ladieswear range because it knows that it is a growing sector of the market. This year sees the launch of a new ladies short, H607, which marries the styling of the ladies chino trouser. It has a flat front, lower, more fashionable, rise and straight leg. It is available form a size 8-18 and comes in stone, navy and black.

There are now ladieswear products in all areas of the collection including woven shirts, such as the Classic Short Sleeve Oxford (H516) available in five colours and sizes XS-XXL.  A lighterweight Pinpoint Oxford is also available in a short (H556) and longsleeve (H551) version. The cotton poplin shirts with Elastane have been incredibly popular, says Henbury, due to their flattering fit and comfort. They come in long (H541) and short sleeved (H540) versions and a new colour was added this year in the light blue.

Fleece has become a mainstay of any corporate and workwear wardrobe and Henbury has a true Microfleece specifically for women (H851), available in nine colours. The interactive Showerproof Jacket (H831) completes the look.  There is also a sleeveless Microfleece H856, which is also designed to integrate with the showerproof jacket. There is even a ladies' leather belt to complete an outfit, the H900.

All the womenswear garments have been created to complement the menswear range, allowing decorators to select from a versatile collection and achieve a co-ordinated look.
