Charteris highlights a handful of styles by way of example. "Skinnifit's SK101 Modern Essential T-Shirt is a winner, with sales going from strength to strength since it was launched in 2005." She attributes its popularity in part to the shapely cut and the soft, stretchy, figure-flattering fabric (the top is made from a 96% cotton single jersey with 4% elastane and has shaped side seams). "The choice of 25 fresh colours is also a significant factor," comments Charteris.

"Rugby shirts are all-time favourites with women," she continues, "and Front Row's FR77 is hugely popular because it is the feminine alternative to Front Row's best-selling FR1 Original Rugby Shirt for men." The FR77 Ladies Rugby Shirt has all the traditional styling you would expect (such as taped collar and rubber buttons) but it is semi-fitted in shape, with a shorter body length.  Seven colour choices include lilac, sky, dusky pink, mint and fuchsia.

New womenswear styles launched in January that have already established themselves as strong sellers include yoga wear from Skinnifit and a soft shell jacket from Slazenger. Skinnifit's SK350 Yoga Hoodie and SK352 Yoga Pants are proving much in demand by dance schools, health clubs and spas.  The fabric for both garments is 95% cotton with 5% elastane: for comfort, fit and good shape retention. Design features include the kangaroo pocket on the top; and the deep, lower cut waistband on the pants. Finishing touches include the contrast velvet used for the drawcord and inside neck trim on the hoodie and for side tabs on both garments.

In the Soft Shell category Charteris highlights Slazenger's SL35 Ladies Hooded Soft Shell Jacket (matched by the men's SL30).  Windproof and water-resistant, with a contrast polyester micro fleece inner layer and generous hood, the SL35 is a flatteringly shaped, full zip jacket with a number of style features that women love (such as the contrast zip pocket on the left sleeve and longer back panel). Other soft shell styles for ladies currently available from PenCarrie are the 140F Ladies Soft Shell Jacket; and 141F Ladies Soft Shell Gilet, both from Jerzees Colours; and Result's RS122F Ladies La Femme Soft Shell Jacket.  From July PenCarrie will also offer the new RG151 Ladies Uproar Softshell Jacket from Regatta.
