A sensation in stock
Published:  23 May, 2005

Garment brand B&B Leisurewear has launched its new range for 2005 – the Sensation Collection. The company told Printwear & Promotion more about the new styles.

The Sensation Collection 2005 from B&B Leisurewear comprises of 134 garments and accessories with a total of 60 pieces for this year. There is a total of 11 different, purpose constructed, fabrics and a colour palette that contains 34 hues, six of which are new (sherbert lemon, pistachio, peaches and cream, strawberry, deep violet and chestnut) and five have been improved (emerald, peace, clay, graphite and metal).

B&B has also gone green, with five shades (pistachio, emerald, herb, peace and envy) of the increasingly popular colour contained in the 2005 collection.

The new designs, colours and details are based on the latest trend prediction information that has been gathered from exclusive websites, publications and periodicals. Customer feedback and comments, current trends from around the world and styles that originate from the street or the catwalk have also been adapted to create the new collection.

All of the new range can be seen in the new brochure. The Sensation Collection Brochure has a 'Little Black Book' theme, with a foldout colour palette that makes finding the ideal shade simple.

For time-saving, the collection has been split into seven chapters to make finding what you want that much easier. These include Womenswear, Sportswear, Contemporary pieces and intimates, Men's Underwear and Wardrobe Classics.

Womenswear

The Womenswear section has seen a huge rise in the variety of styles made available. B&B believe that the T-shirt transcends generations, as its garments can as easily be worn by a sixteen year old as they can be by a 60 year old. This is nowhere more evident than in the styles which are cut to fit real people's shapes and the wide variety of the designs available.

For example, the April BB320 Wide Leg Top Panel Track Pant at first glance may look a little basic, but it has slimming qualities! The fold-over waist band appears to reduce the wearers bum by half! The wide legs of the pant also have the same great camouflaging slimming effect but on the thighs.

Also, the Audrey BB332 Deconstructed Vest Dress takes the idea of the classic Little Black Dress and turns it on its head. The versatility of the piece is huge as it can be worn from the office to the bar, over jeans, on the beach and with heels or flats. Cut from Cotton Lycra to skim and flatter real women's curves, the B&B LBD is the reason stretch cotton jersey was invented.

The Sidney BB373 started life when the popularity of the polo was mentioned in sourced future trend data. The three Button Placket Polo Shirt comes in the super chic Single Jersey, and is available in the new for 2005 delicious shade of Deep Violet.

Playing with the idea of Mock Styles, in other words one thing that looks like another, the Iman BB304 Bikini Neck Tie Vest looks like a normal vest with a halter neck bikini worn underneath. When in actual fact this is an all in one garment, with a mix of necklines. Available in Summer's number one colour - bright chalk white and cut from our maximum stretch cloth 1x1 Rib - Iman makes for a possible contemporary classic.

With the expansion of B&B's underwear range, 2005 has seen the introduction of a pair of Brazilian knickers. The humorously described Cheeky Boy Shorts (Jenny BB355), are low-slung briefs cut so the wearers bum peeks- flatteringly- ever so slightly out the hem.

Menswear

As B&B is not afraid to lead trends, and this is also evident in the menswear range where designs are also made for the stylish and fashion-conscious male.

The Ozzie BB363 has a double layer and panel detail sleeve that embodies the ongoing trend of revealing hidden fabrics and layering. Available in colour combinations fog/glacier and vinyl/chalk, this piece drapes beautifully in the up-and-coming fabric Single Jersey.

B&B's take on a Menswear classic is the Conner BB238 thin strap muscle back vest. To be layered or worn on its own, this top is built for maximum stretch in 1x1 rib.

The 2005 collection has seen the introduction of a men's underwear range. The Beastie BB352 two button boxer is a timeless example of style. In sophisticated black or crisp white, the finer knitted Single Jersey construction of the fabric used is super sleek.

The Bowie BB310 reversible short sleeve is the ultimate men's T-shirt. The lack of visible stitching means there is no end to the clever print or decoration placements that could be applied.

Childrenswear and Babywear

With women and men both catered for, B&B have been sure to include smaller people in its new collection. B&B has a commitment to using organic cotton in every garment and it believes that the possibility of irritating an infant's delicate skin with a weight of chemicals is unthinkable.

There is several new styles to this refreshed collection and seasons' new colour have been incorporated into the range, which includes lemon sherbet, pistachio and peaches and cream. A separate brochure is available for the Kidswear line.

Fizz BB316 is a layered two button baby tee that is available in sizes 0-24 months and is pictured in the catalogue in the colour ways pumpkin and star fruit. The fit is testament to our commitment of improving the cut of all our garments.

Ideal for breezy summer evening time is Sam BB341, a unisex track top in 100% cotton interlock. This jacket exudes tweenie attitude and laid-back style.

Ethics

B&B believes that sweatshops are not the problem in the industry, but the depressing solution to a huge issue of the masses demanding cheap and therefore poor quality garments is.

The grim reality reported about sweatshops would surely be enough to halt this consumer trend, but sadly not. B&B, and its suppliers, pay its employees a fair and legal wage, are constantly inspected in order to maintain safe working conditions and only employ people of a lawful age.

B&B is seen as an equal opportunity employer, overtime is seen as a choice for workers to make, not the employer and the company encourages staff to have a work/life balance.

The donations and volunteering that we do with local charities involved in working with vulnerable children and disadvantaged young people is part of of the company's philosophy. B&B aims to be sensitive and aware, as well as being an ethical business.

Organic Fabric

B&B Leisurewear has used only organically grown cotton fibres throughout its 25 year history as its ethos demands a sensitivity to the environment and to others.

Turkish crops are used and certified EKO-TEX Standard 100. The company utilises natures own fertilisers and pesticides rather than causing damage with chemicals.

B&B's equal partnership with its own cotton farmers and their pickers is priceless and it would never jeopardise this by having them use sprays like synthetic soil additives and defoliants. The purchase of which can cause crippling dept and health problems for themselves and local villagers.

B&B has chosen to raise awareness about its pioneering work in organic cotton now, as it was felt within the family run business that popular culture was entering a more ethically aware stage.

In the 2005 brochure, the Pure Organic Cotton Clothing range is mentioned, which is a selection of T-shirts that are unbleached and dye free. This selection is taking the humble Tee back to its simple and beautiful beginning, for customers who want something 100% natural and real.

The Pure range has one of the softest and most comfy feels around, created in 220g Interlock Cotton. It is available in styles BB001 for Women, BB051 for Men, BB067 for Children and BB204 for Babies. The styles are earthy in appearance; they are creamy coloured with a sprinkling of light brown flex.

B&B makes it a priority to recycle all materials used where possible, but it would like to expand its commitment to the environment. As a result, the company will focus on making the 2006 brochure and the entire line of packaging from 100% recycled materials and biodegradable substances.

A bespoke service is also offered so you can be provided with something truly individual. A labelling service is also offered, that includes attaching personalised swing tags, kimbling, wash care and size labels, all in-house. Contact the company for further details.
