Jill Granger, Director of I.S. Enterprises says the 2008 range focuses more on traditional sportswear ranges, with the emphasis on providing a whole kit. For instance, the Kustom Kit Gamegear range now includes the KK163 Gamegear Rugby Shirt and the KK612 Rugby Shirt both of which complement the Kustom kit shorts and pants, providing a whole kit which is ideal for football, netball and athletics teams.

"Matching sportswear smartens up the appearance of a team, and creates unity. At I.S.Enterprises we take into consideration the quality, fabric and colour the customer is looking for," says Granger. "These shirts can easily be branded with club logos. Solid colours remain popular but equally we offer a huge range of attractive softer tones that can easily coordinate or contrast with a club's corporate colours."

The best sellers in the golfwear range include Polo shirts, Result Soft shell and Result Caps. A selection of good quality polo shirts is available from a range of suppliers, including the F63202M Premium Polo 100 from Fruit of the Loom - a 100% cotton pique shirt. Gildan also does a 65% / 35% cotton polyester mix shirt called the G74800 Euroblend Polo.

"Customers are demanding more high performance clothing, with breathable, moisture wicking capabilities and easy care, so decorators should look to highlight these qualities," suggests Granger. "The range of Result Clothing jackets which we distribute meet all of these demands. Ggarments across this sector must also be easy to embroider and/or print. The softshell range of garments, for instance, are particularly suited to the sports and team wear markets."

She adds: "Soft shell is probably one of the most versatile substrates for garment decorators. We have tested the products and identified that you can achieve virtually any form of design and branding from embroidery to printing.We have even tested a laser print with superb results."

The R56 Ripstop Team Jacket is a highly multipurpose jacket witha large team colour range. It is windproof and water resistant and manufactured from tough 210T Ripstop Nylon with a single jersey body lining. It also features a fold away hood and can easily be folded down to fit in a kit bag. It also features an opening inner hem for screen printing and embroidery.

Granger suggests that decorators should be planning far in advance of the 2012 Olympics, which will present lots of merchandising opportunities. "With so many new products available on the sportwear market, I predict this sector is set to push the boundaries of new technology," she says. "Soft shell is a key example of this; it shows how far fabric technology has progressed from standard polycotton."
