Design Software
Whether customers are new to the industry or have years of experience, the same questions always arise regarding design software: What is the best software to use for vectorising and designing garment transfers? How do I get the best economy out of my media? What are the available fonts and templates? And what support/training is there?
Published:  01 May, 2008

The most common software is Corel Draw, with most customers saying the same thing - that they buy this software based on its price. This design package is excellent and has a whole host of design features suitable for creating your vectored artwork for cutting and printing.

Where Corel Draw falls short of other design packages such as Easysign, is that it has not been tailor made for the industry, so creating and producing designs will take additional time to produce. With Corel you have to use external production software, whereas Easysign allows designing, printing and plotting without the need to export to another software to drive your production equipment.

Working from one software proves beneficial whether you have to cut one design or numerous different ones. Easysign has a feature called block nesting, where you select your different designs and it will fit it to your chosen media width and use the best economy. When you use an external production software it is difficult to do this and most customers are left with off cuts because their software is not allowing them to get the best from their cutable area.

Vectoring has to be one of the biggest headaches for any garment decorator. With the majority of customers supplying low resolution jpgs, it can be time consuming to prepare artwork into a vectored format.

In most cases customers will have to redraw their customer's artwork, but with an advanced vectoring facility as found in Easysign, this common task can be made effortless.

If you want to have advanced drawing and text editing features then Easysign has all angles covered. These features will allow the designing or redrawing of any logo to be quick and effortless.

As for logo templates, Easysign comes with over 4,000 that can be used through a template wizard, which makes it easy to produce a logo or garment design for your customer within minutes. All of the logos are vectored so they are all ready for printing and plotting.

Above all, as well as time saving features and advanced design capabilities, Easysign comes with full free training and dedicated telephone support if required. This is another area that customers who have switched to this software have come to appreciate.
