M&R's SureVac Vacuum-Pallet System enables textile presses to print specialised products, including transfers, poster stock, and other rigid and semi-rigid flat substrates. SureVac Pallets can be retrofit to most manual and automatic M&R carousel presses. It's a fast, easy way to maximise textile press versatility, says M&R. Its SureVac Vacuum Pallet System includes a foot pedal and valve assembly that allows the operator to turn the vacuum on and off from the load station.
"Demand has been especially strong for SureVac-equipped Sportsman E Automatic Textile Presses," says M&R. "Together, they enable screen printers to produce transfers at speeds exponentially faster than flatbed graphic presses." While flatbed presses are limited to one colour at a time, there are Sportsman E models capable of printing up to 12 colours, and the entire multi-colour process is accomplished with one rotation of the press. Other M&R presses can print up to 18 colours.
Unlike flatbeds, there's no setup and teardown for each colour, so proofs can be made available to customers with far less time and effort. And with flatbeds, substrate loading and unloading can only take place while the press is idle. On carousel automatics like Sportsman E, there's no time lost to loading and unloading since they take place during the print cycle.
Carousel presses also allow the incorporation of flash cure units like M&R's Cayenne D. By making it possible to cure ink during the print cycle, flash cures eliminate yet another manual step necessary in flatbed transfer printing.
Sportsman E is available in 6, 8, 10, and 12-colour models with a maximum image area of 51 x 51 cm (20" x 20"). All models feature servo-driven indexers, electric printheads, and multiple print-stroke capability. Other standard features include a user-friendly control panel with digital keypad, onboard self-diagnostics, real-time production data, and an independent print-start/print-finish setting that automatically activates and stops printheads at the beginning and end of production runs.
Cayenne D Flash features instant-on lamp technology that conserves energy by reverting to standby when the press is idle, and digitally-controlled lamps that are divided into three zones, which can be operated independently or in any combination. Curing duration can be controlled by a digital timer or by an ink temperature sensor that automatically shuts off the flash when the substrate reaches operator-set temperature. Units can be electronically linked together on the same press for multiple-flash curing.
