Turn your blue jeans green

TheMagicTouch says it is very proud of receiving recent awards recognising the advantages of using the new WoW transfer paper for full colour garment decoration, and continues to develop more innovative applications and products for introduction throughout 2008.

Under the banner ‘turn your blue jeans green' the company is encouraging garment decorators to offer the service where customers supply an existing pair of jeans/garment to be decorated using the WoW and MagiCut processes. The growth of jeans in branding, colour, style and design confirms the demand for individuality, says TheMagicTouch. The advantage to the customer is that they have no issue regarding size, and the decorator has no issues regarding stock. "The only restriction is people's imagination," says md Jim Nicol. "They can have anything they want, when they want. This idea has great Internet potential throughout the world."

He adds: "Personalising fashion items such as denim is in its infancy but already we have certain global brands offering their products combined with customer's unique personal additions, to some part or the garment, shoes or trainers. Imagine in the future buying branded garments using your design or chosen style to your exact requirements. It will happen."

On the ‘Green Theme' and innovation front, the company has introduced an improved version of its DCT transfer paper that enables full colour decals to be produced using a laser printer. The water-slide decals can then be applied to ceramics, china, glass, candles etc with the added bonus of now being dishwasher safe. The A4 & A3 DCT paper enables the full colour decoration of odd shape items such as egg cups, thimbles, dog bowls, plates, etc without the need for a bespoke heat press. This new idea also allows the consumer to decorate their own mugs and ceramic items that need no premium special coating or treatment.

It has also introduced a fun product for personalised balloons. The market for gift balloons has grown dramatically over the past five years, says TheMagicTouch, and now using a mounted foil balloon on a unique carrier sheet enables production on normal water based ink-jet printers. Available in two sizes with three different designs (heart, star, and round), it comes complete with a host of background and artwork templates for easy production and personalisation.

"Companies should consider TheMagicTouch as ‘The New Salesperson' enabling personalised product samples to be given to customers for evaluation," says Nicol.
