BEEZER
The popular polo shirt in its many guises
Published:  01 May, 2008

Golfwear has had a positive impact on sales within the corporate sector, says Beezer.

The most popular garment is undoubtedly the polo shirt, it says, and while there is an interest in the single coloured version, which is available from the company's stock range, the biggest demand is for its specials or made-to-order range.

Over the past ten years Beezer says it has noticed a marked increase in corporate golfing events, both as a sporting and team-building exercise, and with that, a huge demand for more individuality.

"Organisers want to represent their respective companies in a more professional and sophisticated manner whilst still being appropriate for the green. They are also increasingly more creative in choosing the different styles and colour applications available to them," says a Beezer spokesman.

Beezer offers a wide variety of styles from its comprehensive range of made-to-order garments, and can offer a bespoke service, where customers can make adaptations on existing Beezer designs or come up with something completely new.

Beezer's Tipped Polo features tipping on the collar and sleeve and is one of the more traditional golfing standards. The tipping is available in numerous colourways and stripe widths. Made of 100% cotton piqué, it is available in sizes 24 inch to XXXXL.

The Raglan Piped Polo includes a contrast raglan sleeve, contrast collar and placket and piping. Made from a cotton/polyester blend the garment is also available as one body colour - a popular alternative within the golfing sector, says Beezer.

More recent developments have seen the introduction of the Curved Panel Polo, the Solent Polo, the Embassy Polo, the Hampshire Polo and the Norfolk Polo - all made from a cotton/polyster blend pique.

The Curved Panel Polo has contrast curved side panels and a variable coloured collar and sleeve, while the Solent Polo features piping across the shoulder and placket and a contrast collar. The latter has become increasing popular with golfers, says Beezer.

The Embassy Polo includes a breast pocket and contrast coloured shoulder/arm panel and the Norfolk Polo features a raglan contrast coloured shoulder/arm panel and piping across the panel and pocket and a contrast collar.

One of the company's more successful recent additions has been the Hampshire Polo, a quartered panelled garment both front and back. Each panel can be changed to individual colours depending on the customer's requirements, offering greater flexibility and design scope, says Beezer.

Other garments from Beezer's range are worn by golfers, most notably the Zipped Jacket. According to Beezer, a popular golf combination is to wear the Tipped Polo in conjuntion with the Zipped Jacket, which it says can look very effective when the colourways of the jacket are in reverse to that of the shirt.
