NOVA CHROME UK
Sublijet distributor ventures further into clothing market
Published:  01 May, 2008

Long established in the sublimation market, Nova Chrome UK is a distributor of Sublijet, Sawgrass' signature sublimation ink that is renowned for its quality and ease of use.

"Sublijet has the advantage of coming complete with PowerDriver Colour Management software so that which ever sublimatable product you choose to decorate, colours are always at their best," says Nova Chrome. "Sublijet inks are available for a range of Epson printers so whether you are looking for a basic four-colour system or the additional scope of an eight-colour system with the choice of cartridges or bulk feed, Nova Chrome can meet your requirements."

Sublimation is the solution to decorating a wide range of promotional and personalised giftware including ceramics, glass, metal, mousemats and a comprehensive choice of UniSub items.

Now venturing further into the clothing market, Nova Chrome has introduced several new printing systems to its range, offering customers additional scope to decorate a more comprehensive range of garments. There is a choice of Chromablast inks/media for decorating 100% cotton or the Direct Advantage System.

The Direct Advantage System, fuelled by Sawgrass-patented NaturaLink garment inks, allows the decorator to print directly onto 100% cotton or 50/50 cotton blend fabrics.

"More affordable and easier to use than previous generations of direct to garment printers the Direct Advantage creates customised garments, which are breathable and light," says Nova Chrome. "Driven by Sawgrass' colour and print management software the system delivers vibrant and consistent colour and image quality."

The system is ideal for short runs or custom printing but is also efficient and economical when producing larger numbers of garments and no specialist transfer paper is required.

Using the Direct Advantage is simple, adds Nova Chrome. First, design the image in the graphics package of your choice - Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or CorelDraw. Next, using the supplied Direct Advantage software, send the image to the printer. Finally, a short pressing fixes the ink and aids washability, leaving the decorator with a ready to wear garment with brilliant colour and image quality.

At present the Direct Advantage prints full colour imaging onto white or pastel coloured garments but tests with white inks, for decorating black and dark garments are well underway. When complete, customers who purchase the equipment now will be eligible for a free upgrade to white.

Another useful addition to the system is the image cost estimator, a quick and useful tool that delivers a breakdown of each image printed in terms of ink cost, helping in costing jobs more effectively and ultimately making the decorator more competitive.

Additional garment jigs are available for those that wish to print children's garments or want to speed up the process further. Nova Chrome also supplies a range of heat transfer presses to accompany the Direct Advantage.
